Who doesn't love a good casino movie? If something is interesting about the glamour, lifestyle, and glitz, that makes it great for cinema. Movies about this kind of entertainment take the plot to an entirely different level by portraying the stories of various gamblers. And it will make you appreciate the good and the dark side of gambling. On the other hand, some movies show the future of gambling and places with the high-tech gadgets of our dreams. Let's take you through the list of favourite movies to check out and watch, so add them to your bucket list.
The Island
The time is not-so-distant, and the place is an independent community, isolated from the outside world, whose inhabitants, all in identical white spacesuits, perform their usual duties under careful supervision. Lincoln-6-Echo and other residents are told that they are among the few who have survived the global contamination, and they all live to be transferred to the last unpolluted oasis on Earth - the so-called Island.
Lincoln Six Echo, played by Ewan McGregor, scores large in a unique kind of casino-style lottery. Still, the character discovers he's a clone instead of celebrating the big win as all players would. Such a small move creates an actual avalanche of events threatening to bring down the entire dystopian world and its creators' experiments. On the other hand, Ewan McGregor's character enjoying the big win and his celebration is always exciting to watch again, especially for avid online casino players.
Blade Runner
The ingenious story is simple. Exterminator (aka Blade Runner) Rick Deckard, a policeman and hunter of artificial humans (replicants), is tasked with killing four such beings who are illegally on Earth. Deckard gets the job done only to change his life forever. His change happened through his love for the replicant Rachel and rejection of the corporate heartlessness of the human world.
The only casino-related scene is iconic. Rick Deckard meets Rachel, one of the replicants he's chasing down, and the two enter a heated conversation. Even though it's a shorter scene than expected, it still brings a futuristic dose into this movie.
Casino Royale
There are two versions of Ian Fleming's story, but without a doubt, the best one is directed by Martin Campbell and starring Daniel Craig. The mission takes Bond to Madagascar, where he spies on the terrorist Mollaka (Sebastien Foucan). As things do not go according to plan, Bond decides to investigate independently of MI6 to follow the terrorists to their hideout. Following the trail to the Bahamas, he meets Dimitrios (Simon Abkarian) and his girlfriend Solange (Caterine Murino). He learns that Dimitrios is connected to Le Schiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), the banker of the world's most famous terrorist organisation.
The Secret Service learns Le Chiffre wants to win money in a high-stakes poker game at the Casino Royale in Montenegro. The MI6 secret service sends Agent 007 to play against him, knowing Le Chiffre's defeat will destroy his entire organisation. "M" (Judi Dench) puts Bond under the watchful eye of the seductress Vesper Lynd (Eva Green).
It’s interesting, by the way, that the Royale only accepts high rollers, taking into account its image among gamblers. However, when you play online, you can always look for a nice $3 deposit casino and learn the rules before competing with the best. This is what the Agent 007, unfortunately, didn’t have time to do.
The most memorable scene in the film - and one of the most memorable scenes in recent film history - centres on an incredible showdown with emotions in Monte Carlo when Bond takes on his opponent in an all-or-nothing game. The pace is furious, Eva Green is gorgeous, and the poker is jaw-dropping.
The Hangover
The Hangover is a series of three American comedy films created by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore and directed by Todd Philips. The first in the franchise follows the misadventures of four friends who set off on a trip to attend a party. The story unfolds with three friends on a quest to find their missing friend after waking up the next day with no memory of the night before.
Therefore, when they realise that the groom is missing and they have to find him before the wedding takes place. In addition, they find a tiger in the bathroom of their room in the "Caesars Palace" hotel and a six-month-old baby in the closet. The only one they can't find is Doug. There is very little time left for them to go back through blurry memories and reckless decisions to see where things went wrong and get Doug back to Los Angeles in time for the wedding.
The City of Sins provided the scenery for the popular comedy, including a memorable gambling scene in one of the most prestigious places in Las Vegas.
Ocean's Eleven
Danny Ocean (George Clooney) is a professional thief who has just been released from prison on parole. Immediately after leaving, he finds his friend Rusty (Brad Pitt) and proposes a plan for the biggest robbery in history. His idea is to rob a safe in which money is kept from three casinos: Bellagio, Mirage and MGM Grand, on the night when the long-awaited boxing match between world champion Lennox Lewis and challenger Vitali Klitschko is scheduled, when the operators will have as much as 150 million dollars. The two gather a team of nine other professional criminals, the best in their business.
Ocean didn't tell his team his real motive for this robbery. The owner of all three casinos is Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), the man who kidnapped Deni's better half. Eleven of them begin to prepare a seemingly impossible action.
Steven Soderberg assembled an exceptional cast, which was a winning combination. The British declared it the best remake of all time. According to many critics, the remake overshadowed the original and its cast.
Batman Forever
In real life, penguins have nests. Here, The Penguin hosts The Penguin's Lair, a shady casino with crooked dealers and equally problematic players. There is a scene where Dick Grayson and Batman enter The Lair in costumes chasing down the villain.
Before things go south, they take on The Penguin's goons in a campy and fun scene. If nothing else, it is worth watching for the fashion and costumes alone. Nothing is in its place, so you'll find the scene quite the opposite the overall atmosphere.
Ending
In the sea of today's cinematography, of course, there are films about futuristic betting environments. You may have heard of some of these titles before, but we are sure that a short description of the movies presented here will attract you and make you want to watch them.
