In an amazing twist of fate the hometown team, Heroic made it all the way to the finals and ended up defeating FaZe Clan in a significant upset. For their win, Heroic took home $200,000 and earned instant qualification to the BLAST World Final in December in Abu Dhabi.
What Happened During the Group Stage at the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022
The tournament started with a group stage. The eight teams which included the likes of Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, and others were divided into two different groups. The teams played 2 group matches and then the top three teams from each progressed to the playoffs.
In Group A Heroic scored a great win over Ninjas in Pyjamas before losing to FaZe Clan. Their 1-1 record earned them second place in their group. FaZe Clan secured a perfect 2-0 record after beating OG 2-0 in their first match before outclassing Heroic. The final team to make the cut in Group A was Ninjas in Pyjamas who also had a 1-1 record.
In Group B, Team Liquid were the top team. They won both their games against G2 and Natu Vincere. They topped the group with a perfect record. Team Liquid played very well to upset Natus Vincere and they looked destined for a deep run in the tournament. G2 Esports came 2nd with a 1-1 record and Natus Vincere also with a 1-1 record came third based on for and against differential.
What Happened During the Playoffs at the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022
In the first playoff match, Natus Vincere fell to Ninjas in Pyjamas in an upset. It was a tight battle but in the end Ninjas in Pyjamas were too strong and won 2-1. In the other match, Heroic took down G2 Esports as the crowd was going crazy. Heroic seemed to be peaking at the right and a rematch with FaZe Clan was on the horizon!
In the semi-finals, FaZe Clan kept up their winning streak and showed too much class for Ninjas in Pyjamas which sent them into the final. In a crazy back-and-forth match Heroic overpowered Team Liquid and sent the top North American team packing!
Heroic Are Your BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022 Champions
The final went down between FaZe Clan and Heroic. The first game on Overpass was close but Heroic managed to pull away and score a 16-11 win. FaZe Clan immediately responded with a solid performance on Inferno. This set up a do-or-die game on Mirage. In an incredibly close match, the Danes somehow managed to get the win 19-16 and clinch the series!
It was amazing to see Heroic win in front of their home crowd in Copenhagen. The Danish team played the tournament of their lives. They were absolutely on fire against FaZe Clan and fed off the energy of the crowd to cause a massive upset. Due to their legendary performance, they earned $200,000 and are now one of the most elite CS:GO teams in the world!
