Glass is a non-crystalline amorphous solid that is often transparent, with widespread use in the construction of windows. Sorry I couldn't resist that one. Glass is actually a movie scheduled for a January 18th, 2019 release that will see enigmatic writer and director M. Night Shyamalan and producer Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions reunite with stars Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and James McAvoy for the concluding part of Shyamalan's unique superhero trilogy that began with Unbreakable (released in 2000) and continued with last years Split. Speaking with Collider recently producer Blum had this to say about the movie...

"Of course, it’s a kind of superhero movie, for sure. I do consider it that, yeah. It's very different. I would say it's not a Marvel movie, but a superhero movie."

Unfortunately, Blum's short statement doesn't reveal much, but thankfully the official synopsis for the movie is a little more indicative as to what we can expect from Glass...

From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.
Following the conclusion of Split Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb's superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
This riveting culmination of his worldwide blockbusters will be produced by Shyamalan and Jason Blum, who also produced the writer/director's previous two films for Universal. They produce again with Ashwin Rajan and Marc Bienstock, and Steven Schneider, who will executive produce.

So it would seem that Bruce Willis' David Dunn AKA Unbreakable will face off against James McAvoy's The Horde with Samuel L.Jackson's Mr. Glass manipulating events from the shadows. Hopefully, Shyamalan will maintain the subdued tone of 'normalcy' these movies are known for, ideally escalating into a brutal and revealing showdown between the two characters. Here is a brief rundown of what has happened thus far...

Unbreakable

David Dunn survives a devastating train crash without so much as a single scratch. Approached by Elijah Price, a crippled man with severely fragile bones Dunn discovers he has superhuman strength and the ability to see crimes people have committed upon touching them. Although living at home with his estranged wife in a dissolving relationship he is persuaded by his son to use his abilities for good, following which Dunn learns that Price has orchestrated many accidents including the train crash that brought them together.

Split

15 years later 3 young girls are held captive by Kevin Wendell Crumb, who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder with 23 distinct identities. After adopting a superhuman 24th personality called the Beast and killing two of the girls for being spoilt and privileged Crumb discovers the third girl comes from a broken, traumatic home and lets her live, to which she reveals Crumbs' crimes to the police.
