Throughout the marketing for Sony's Tom Hardy led Venom movie, we have yet to see Venom in his entirety. So far we've really only been shown head shots and views of Venom above the shoulders. Fans were quick to notice the apparent lack of the very iconic white Tarantula symbol which is supposed to cover both the front and back of Venom's torso. Of course, this could be due to Venom's unpolished visual effects in which case the Tarantula symbol has yet to be added, but some fans have voiced concern that Sony may be neglecting the trademark symbol in Venom's design for this film alltogether.
With Comic-Con less than a week away, hopefully we get some clarity on this mimute, yet crucial detail and whether or not Venom's design will be completely comic-book accurate.
Artist Royy Ledger created a phenomenal piece of fan artwork a while back of the Venom movie's symbiote anti-hero and took it upon himself to add that iconic Tarantula symbol. Subtle, yet visible, this is exactly how Sony can (and hopefully do) implement this important design element:
