The season 4 finale has just aired in the UK, with two bands of survivors from the chaos at the prison having made it to the mysterious Terminus, but is there light at the end of the tunnel or is the promise of sanctuary a lie. Unfortunately the answer to that question will have to wait until The Walking Dead returns with Season 5, later this year.
Season 4 has pulled no punches, with many cast members having met their grisly end, and with glimpses in to the past of many of our characters, and a healthy injection of new characters - some surviving longer than others. After the dire pace that was season 2, it is safe to say that The Walking dead is back on track (sorry) as the premiere horror TV show on any network.
But where to next? Will we learn how the zombie apocalypse began? Is there a cure aganist the zombie pandemic? How did Glenn survive the mysterious zombie flu? Just what is really going on over at Terminus? Where is Beth, and who snatched her? Where are Carol, Tyrese and baby Judith?
Based loosely upon the comics, The Walking Dead TV series parallels some story elements and deviates from others. Terminus, both chronologically (in terms of events) and in function seems similar to the comics' "Alexandria Safe Zone", which ultimately led to a story of cross conflict between three survivor camps. Is this where the TV show is heading?
