Very recently, the original Red Ranger, Austin St. John (Jason from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Wild Force) returned to the fan base with an aggressive convention touring schedule and really cool merchandise. Fans have welcomed “ASJ” back with open arms and even crossed their fingers for his return to the franchise.
Recently, ASJ has been dropping subtle [and not-so-subtle?] hints about his possible return to Power Rangers. In a CBS video interview he shushed host Brendan Higgins after the interviewer attempted to close with, “Austin's morphing out of here.” Austin's reply was, “Well... not yet," and pressed his finger to his lips.
Following the video release, ASJ's official Facebook page asked fans where they would like to see him return and in what capacity. He offered suggestions such as the upcoming movie or a role in a future Power Rangers series.
Power Rangers Dino Charge will be the next iteration, which would suit the original Red Ranger since he derived his energy from the might of the dinosaurs. However, getting as many cameos into the reboot film would be fun for long time fans if the story called for it.
Would you like to see Austin St. John return to the series? And in what way? Movie? Series? A mentor? A ranger? Sixth ranger? Leader? You can sound off your answer on ASJ's Facebook post right here.
