The Omen is a classic 1976 horror-thriller directed by Richard Donner (Superman). The movie starred Gregory Peck as Robert Thorn, an American Ambassador who adopts a little boy named Damien after losing a child to stillbirth. During Damien's 5th birthday party the boys nanny hangs herself starting a series of bizarre events and revelations that open's Thorns eyes to the truth; Damien is the embodiment of the Antichrist, the prophecized son of Satan.

Despite being followed by a series of sequels, novel adaptations, a remake and two less than successful TV serials studio 20th Century Fox are reportedly developing a prequel to the original movie based on a script by Ben Jacoby (Bleed), with Antonio Campos in the director's chair. David S. Goyer and Karen Turen will produce the movie through their Phantom Four production Company.

Although no title has been officially announced we expect this movie to play out in a similar fashion to Arnold Schwarzeneggers 1999 movie End of Days and the 1976 Hammer Horror movie To The Devil A Daughter, starring the late, great Christopher Lee. Let's hope this concentrates more on genuine scares and conspiracy rather than excessive gore and titillation.
