The First Order is the new name of the Empire in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It is still comprised of many of the familar aspects that made up the Empire, but this time (it woud seem) the are not controlled by a Sith Emperor, Although the Sith are still within their ranks. To prepare you for the new dynamics you will see in the forthcoming seventh episode of the Star Wars Saga we will show what we know so far about the mysterious First Order.

The First Order

The Galactic Empire came into being by the order of Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. The former senator of Naboo used the Trade Federations blockade of his homeworld to show the lack of necessary leadership in Supreme Chancellor Valorum. After becoming Supreme Chancellor, Palpatine in actuality a Sith Lord known as Darth Sidious, ordered his apprentice Count Dooku to create a separatist state with a droid army to move against the Galactic Senate, giving Palpatine the emergency power to declare war against the sepratists using a clone army he too had secretly ordered into creation. During the subsequent Clone Wars Palpatine, under the guise of protecting the galaxy, declared himself Emperor.

With democracy a memory a few banded together as the rebel alliance and fought back against the fear and opression of the Galactic Empire, which culminated in a battle in orbit above the forest moon of Endor, when the Emperor and his superweapon known as the Death Star were destroyed by rebellion forces.

The First Order is so named after the first order given by Emperor Palpatine - that should the Empire fall, it will reborn as an independent state, much like the separatists before them. After the Rebel Alliance toppled the regime, the remnants of the Empire were sanctioned and reprimanded for their war crimes. However many systems aligned with the Empire remained loyal, and under new leadership the First Order arose as foreseen by the Emperor; a stateless galactic power led by a new Sith Lord. The First Order do not have to answer to any constituants, board members or dignitaries and as such are powerful and much more deadlier than the Empire ever was.

Storm Troopers

The mainstay force of the Empire has been given an updated look to match the name change from Empire to First Order.

Snow Troopers

These Stormtroopers are fitted with special cold weather battle suits to keep them warm and alert in extreme weather conditions.

Flame Troopers

These Heavy-Duty Stormtroopers come armed with flame weapons capable of turning any battlefield into a scorching inferno.

TIE Pilot Troopers

These Troopers, as before, were all black variants of the Trooper armor specifically designed to assist with breathing and awareness in zero-G combat.

Commander Trooper

Very, very little is known about this 'Chrome' Trooper - we know there is only one, and that they are in the higher circles of power within the First Order.

Sith Lord Kylo Ren

The Sith remain central to the First Order, though it is unknown as to whether this Sith Lord is Master or and Apprentice, though the Sith Lords does use of a crossguarded lightsaber, harkening back to older times within galactic history.

Officers, Commanders and Command Crew

As when known as the Empire, the First Order requires intelligent and resourceful officers to command its fleet and a team of command crew to carry out their orders, all of which are present above. But who is the person stood at the podium, the Sith Lord Kylo Ren or somebody else?

TIE Fighter

The main stay of the Emprial fleet returns with white painted wings.

Star Destroyer and Shuttle

The huge command class vessels return, along with the shuttles (minus the tail wing) for transporting high profile personnel. Though these new smaller craft escorting the shuttle look new, something we havent seen before!

We expect the First Order will have much more at their disposal such as walkers, droids and other craft, similar to those used by the Empire before them. We will just have to wait and see what their AT-AT's and AT-ST's look like.
