Sony and Columbia Pictures are continuing their downward spiral of bad reboots with next years controversial female led Ghostbusters reboot. The movie, which is sure to end up in the bargain bin alongside the Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 and RoboCop is rumored to be the first of a shared universe of Ghostbusters themed movies, with an all male led "Ghostcorps" rumored to be in the pipeline, reportedly to star Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum as part of a military styled team of Ghostbusters saving New York from a supernatural threat.
Unfortunately for Sony, Legendary and Universal Pictures seem to have gotten there first with their movie Spectral, which is currently in post production and due for release 12th August 2016. The movie, which filmed in Budapest, Hungary, last summer has been described as a supernatural Black Hawk Down and will see a team of elite special forces dispatched into an, as-of-yet, undisclosed European city to battle against supernatural forces. Directed by Nic Mathieu, and based upon a screenplay by Ian Fried, John Gatins and George Nolfi, Spectral will star James Badge Dale (World War Z), Max Martini (Pacific Rim), Emily Mortimer (Shutter Island) and Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek: Into Darkness).
Beyond the very basic premise, very little is actually known about the movie. We've managed to grab as many images as we can related to the movie, all of which can be found below...
