With roughly 241 days to go before Pacific Rim: Uprising debuts in theaters, many fans are curious if Universal and Legendary will promote the film at this year's San Diego Comic-Con convention, which takes place next month. Many studios like to utilize Comic-Con to debut first-time footage of their high-profile, upcoming releases to tease and excite the hard core fans who attend the event and ignite word-of-mouth hype.

Considering the Pacific Rim sequel releases on February 23rd, 2018 and San Diego's international Comic-Con takes place in July, Universal really only have this year's San Diego Comic-Con event to advertise if they intend to do so.

Naturally, we reached out to the film's director Steven DeKnight and asked him if Uprising would be on the slate for SDCC this year. He responded and in doing so, also confirmed a Pacific Rim: Uprising Director's Cut! Check it out:

Not Sure. Still working on the director's cut. But hope to be there in some fashion.

If Universal are to debut any Pacific Rim: Uprising footage, it is rare that the footage would ever make it to the public stage. However, in more recent years studios have chosen to give the general public a taste of the Hall H presentation as well - but usually that has been in response to, or as a means to prevent leaked footage from within the event.

Of course we're hoping some Pacific Rim: Uprising footage makes its way to Comic-Con and online, but even if no footage is shown, it is reassuring to note that Uprising will likely be at the event "in some fashion".
