The year 2018 has proved to be an intergalactic amazement for both gamers and movie fanatics as the realm of gaming has adopted many Box Office titled games, including a massive range of sci-fi themed games based on movie titles.
Taking a look at what 2018 has brought science fiction lovers thus far only leads us to believe the year of upcoming 2019 movies will be the stepping stone the gaming industry needs to launch some butt kicking games. And if our predictions are correct, this will pave the way to an incredibly enticing 2020, the year we expect gaming to change in favour of sci-fi gamers.
Some of the most intricate PC games have been developed and launched this year, it’s hard to imagine how any gamer got any work done let alone any sleep. Trying to not break the bank must have also been challenging for those on a tight budget as some of these PC releases may involve selling an arm or a leg rather than missing out on an inimitable gaming experience. Can’t say we blame those who have body parts missing, what with these incomparable extraordinary gaming releases! Checking out some of the 2018 sci-fi PC game releases almost had our researchers begging us to allow them more time on the job and skip microwave dinners, can’t say we didn’t sympathize.
Code Vein – One of the hottest games expected to be released this year has been delayed until 2019. It is an action packed role playing game expected to hit top sales. The supernatural themed game was expected to be launched in September 2018 but creators are obviously adding more gore for sci-fi lovers awaiting the release of a darker realm.
Kingdom Hearts III – The sequel to Kingdom Hearts II is expected to be released in 2019 and players can safely suggest the game will be bigger and better than its predecessor.
Other sci-fi PC games to have had a massive impact in the gaming genre that is science fiction; Doom, XCOM 2 and Prey (released 2017).
Pokémon Go – Let’s face it, this was one massive breakthrough for gaming developers. Being able to use GPS map tracking to locate and battle virtual animals blew our minds. One could argue this particular game wasn’t necessarily science fiction, but the method behind the madness certainly was perceived as such.
Gears of War – Still a favourite in 2018, the war against aliens continues with a hard core team of trained militia.
Nier Automata – The game focuses on combat which is fast paced and intense. Pretty much a gore kind of console game that grants, any player opposed to the realm of the unknown, an opportunity to take out whatever may cross their virtual path.
The casino gaming industry has also managed to stay up to trend creating free slot games which have been developed by casino gaming software giants to deliver the most intricate gameplay based on sci-fi movies. The best part is that players can choose to play for virtual coins which present a real online casino gambling experience through freebies.
The mobile gaming platform has taken social gaming to a new level and all our sci-fi fanatics are welcome to take advantage of the fact. Las Vegas slots have nothing on our sci-fi lover gamers, we can argue that for sure!
As 2018 comes to a close, sci-fi gamers across the world are waiting under the Christmas tree, hoping Santa will deliver them a demo of what’s to come. But not to fear, if you are on the naughty list, 2019 has evolved, online shopping is a thing of the present.
