Appearing at a recent Comic Con in Belgium, Terminator and Aliens star, and long time collaborator with Canadian director James Cameron Michael Biehn talked briefly with the guys over at The Terminator Fans about the possibility of Cameron making another Terminator movie and his possible involvement. Unfortunately, the following video has some playback issues, so we have added a transcript of what Biehn said beneath the video.

"...To being in another Terminator because Reese was young when he went back into the future, or into the past; he died in the past. So unless they are able to generate my image as a young him, which I'm sure they can these days, I don't anticipate being in it, and any Terminator movies. But, from what I understand the last Terminator movie did very, very poorly at the box office and was not very well received. But now the movie goes back to Jim Cameron, now Jim Cameron owns the rights to that movie again for the rest of his life, I think. And I think Jim will make another movie. He might not direct it, but he'll make another movie and I would guarantee you that if Jim Cameron's involved in another Terminator movie it'll be just as good as his first two."

Biehn's faith in Camerons return is unsurprising considering the long time working relationship the two have shared, and while Biehn doesn't really offer anything new, it is interesting that he mentions the possibility of a younger version of himself returning via the use of CGI performance recreation techniques similar to those used in Terminator Genisys and Rogue One. This is a possibility that James Cameron would explore, likely in an attempt to perfect the technique and one which he could use for many of the original cast should they reprise their roles.

In 2019 the production rights to the Terminator franchise, currently held by Skydance Productions founder David Ellison, will revert back to writer and director of the first two (and arguably better) installments, and the creator of the franchise James Cameron. The director of the top two most commercially successful movies at the worldwide box office; Titanic and Avatar, is currently developing a series of sequels based on the latter property which will utilize the leading edge of performance capture techniques to re-create the alien world of Pandora with levels of realism surpassing those seen in the 2009 original.

Reportedly Cameron is developing the future, and possible conclusion of the Terminator franchise with executive producer Ellison, the director of Deadpool Tim Miller, star Arnold Schwarzenegger, Production designer Sonja Klaus, and possibly his ex-wife and The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd (although her involvement has not been confirmed). Could Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton return? Could Cameron use CGI to recreate a mid-thirties Michael Edwards (who portrayed adult John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day) voiced by Edward Furlong? Would fans want a future war set Terminator movie with a wealth of CGI doctored actors inserted for the sake of continuity?
