Courtesy of Vanity Fair, Star Wars fans have gotten some insight into what could be awaiting them in the forthcoming conclusion to the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Amidst a plethora of the usual behind the scenes photographs showing director J. J. Abrams, some of the more insightful images released for Vanity Fairs cover story were...
By far the most dramatic image shows Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) dueling once again. Fans have speculated that because of the torrents of water and the spaceship hull-like surface that they are standing on, that this scene either takes place on the remnants of the Death Star (as seen in the teaser trailer) or possibly on the hull of the Millenium Falcon.
Another image that has been causing much speculation is that of the return of the Knights of Ren. Returning from their hiatus during Star Wars: The Last Jedi the Knights of Ren are said to feature prominently in The Rise of Skywalker, with eagle-eyed fans believing that Kylo Ren may be body slamming one of the Knights to the ground in the teaser.
Yet another image that is causing much speculation is the above image which allegedly shows Keri Russell's character, Zorri Bliss, a masked scoundrel encountered on the new snow world, Kijimi.
Another new location is the new desert world of Pasaana, where the natives known as the Aki-Aki were played by Jordanian locals.
Next, we have an image showing Domhnall Gleeson returning as General Hux, standing behind Richard E. Grant, who has finally been confirmed to be portraying Allegiant General Pryde.
Its been a long time, but it finally looks like Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), the man of many cloaks, will finally get back behind the wheel of the Millenium Falcon, alongside old friend Chewbacca and new friends Poe Dameron (Oscar Issac), BB-8 and the new droid D-O.
Speaking of droids, Anthony Daniels will return once again as C-3PO, who has been hinted to play a pivotal role in the movie that ties the sequel trilogy into the original, and possibly the prequel trilogy.
Finally, we have our cover image showcasing Mark Hamill's return as Luke Skywalker, standing alongside R2-D2. Fans have speculated that the above image could hint that Luke may return from the dead, while others have speculated that the above image may be from the flashback scene shown throughout the sequel trilogy showing the fall of Luke's Jedi Order.
