Welcome! My second post here will be about the show Mystery Science Theater 3000, AKA MST3K.

Starting out at a local TV station called KTMA at the time, Mystery Science Theater 3000 started out as a cheap TV show. The show eventually made it to the newly created Comedy Channel. The show's plot was simple and fitting for the Comedy Channel: A man, marooned in space with two robots, is being forced to watch bad movies as part of an experiment. Only his witty comments, jokes, and sarcasm can help him get through these movies.

For the shows first seasons, Joel Robinson was the man stck in space. His robot pals, Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo, Gypsy, and Cambot were created by him and were his only pals aboard. The evil Dr. Forrester and hisĀ "partner" Dr. Bernhardt were supplying the movies. Bernhardt would later be replaced by the much more lovable TVs Frank.

After a few seasons Joel had left the show. He was replaced by Mike Nelson. And some time after that, Trace Beaulieu, the then voice of Crow and Dr. Forrester would leave the show. Frank had already left and this signaled the end of a season.

But the show would go on. Soon snatched up by Sci-Fi, Dr. Forrester was replaced by Pearl Forrester, his mother. Crow was soon puppeted and voiced by Bill Corbett.

Sadly the show would not last forever. After 10 seasons of cheesy and bad movies, MST3K ended. But the show had survived much and had even had a movie before the end.

Currently there are a few programs very similar to the show, created by the same people on the show. One such is Rifftrax, another was The Filmcrew. DVDs are also being produced currently by Shout! Factory, after Rhino went under.
