Although Transformers: Age of Extinction wasn't that well recieved by crtics and general audiences, fans of Michael Bays loud and proud Transformers franchise relished the first big screen appearance of the Dino-Bots and the appealing allure of the villainous bounty hunter Lockdown. Even Mark Wahlberg was well recieved, replacing Shia LaBeouf as the human anchor character in the movie. Age of Extinction was so well recieved by Bay fans that the movie went on to amass $1.1 Billion, the highest box office earnings in the franchise yet.
As such it really comes as no surprise that, according to Collider, Wahlberg will be reprising his role as Cade Yaeger in the forthcoming, yet untitled fifth instalment in the franchise, due to hit theatres sometime in 2017. Michael Bay will return to direct the movie and Peter Cullen is also expected to return as the voice for Autobot leader Optimus Prime, Though it is unknown which of the surviving cast from Age of Extinction will also return?
