Principal photography on the new Terminator movie is currently underway in the province of Almeria in Andalusia, Spain. The desert terrain of this beautiful Mediterranean region is likely doubling for Mexico and/or the Colorado desert, of which will likely feature prominently in the forthcoming movie. As is usually the case with location filming, some of the cast have been caught by the press in full costume. On Monday, June 19th Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049) was snapped sporting some prosthetic makeup that creates a pattern of symmetrical scars. More on them later. Yesterday, Tuesday, June 20th Terminator franchise legend Linda Hamilton was also snapped, dressing in combat fatigues suitable for the desert region the movie is currently filming in.

The above images of Davis, courtesy of JustJared.com show the American actress in unremarkable attire. But what stands out is the scarring on her arms and chest as highlighted in the last image. It is my belief that these scars reveal Davis' character, believed to be called Grace, to be an unknown model of Terminator infiltrator 800 series, as is highlighted in the above comparison of these scars alongside an 800 series Terminator endoskeleton.

The above image of Hamilton, courtesy of The Terminator Fans and presumably taken en-route to filming, shows the veteran actress in combat fatigues. This would seem to back up my previous speculation that the character of Sarah Connor is likely a prominent figure in the Human Resistance, if not its leader. With only a young John Connor presumed to be included in the movie, portrayed by Jude Collie, it could be that my other speculation that John Connor may not initially exist in this movie (as an adult, and the prophesized leader of the Human Resistance) may hold some water, suggesting that the movie may be telling the events of the future war against Skynet's machines from the first, unpolluted (by time travel) timeline of events that has so far previously been unseen in the Terminator franchise. Whether or not, as I also previously speculated, the movie uses a similar narrative structure to 2014's Edge of Tomorrow remains to be seen, though if the movie is, as reported, a direct follow up to 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day, it could be likely.
