Star Wars fanatics are going to love this latest addition to Sideshow Collectibles' Star Wars lineup! Based on Ralph McQuarrie's original concepts he made for George Lucas prior to the filming of The Empire Strikes Back, this statue emulates what could have been Boba Fett's costume design. This concept design acted as somewhat of a cross between Darth Vader's suit and that of of an Imperial Storm Trooper. Throughout the development process, Boba Fett's costume eventually evolved into the Mandalorian-based armor we're familiar with today and this concept design never made it into production. However, thanks to Sideshow, fans can own this piece of Star Wars history in the form of this new statue! Only 750 have been produced, so fans wishing to obtain one for themselves should order their as soon as possible.
Capturing the spirit of these early explorations, Fett appears in his original all-white armor with two unique helmet designs, leaping into action over a base inspired by the Slave I. Reviewing a broad spectrum of McQuarrie’s imaginative designs for Boba Fett, Sideshow’s artists have translated his iconic artwork in a brilliant homage to a Star Wars that is both familiar, yet never was.
The statue currently sells for $424.99 with payment plans available on Sideshow's website. Do you plan on purchasing this limited edition collectible? Let us know in the comments!
