In 1990 80's movie star Kevin Bacon starred alongside Fred Ward in the cult classic Tremors, a science fiction comedy movie in which the fictional town of Perfection in the Nevada desert falls victim to a hunting brood of large subterranean sand worms AKA Graboids. Well recieved critically and in the home release market, the movie spawned four sequels and a 13 episode spin off TV series that aired on the Sci Fi Channel (Syfy) in 2003. Though before the movies release Bacon had viewed the movie as a low point in his career, back in May the American actor expressed his interest while talking to Metro in reprising his role of Valentine McKee.
A new, direct-to-DVD sequel titled Tremors V: Bloodlines, with Michael Gross reprising his role of Burt Gummer, was released last month with Bacon absent, but it seems according to EW that the star of recent hits such as X-Men: First Class and FOX TV show The Following is set to return in a new TV series set within the Tremors universe, of which he will also executive produce. The new show is being devleoped by Blumhouse Productions and Universal Cable Productions, whom are currently seeking a network to air the series.
