When marketing began for 2006's sequel X-men: The Last Stand many fans and moviegoers where shocked to learn that Kelsey Grammer, star of Cheers, Frasier and The Simpsons, would be appearing in full blue make-up, teeth and claws as the X-Men's Beast. Though his performances in the aforementioned shows lent towards the characters intelligence, many doubted the actor would be able to convincingly portray the animalistic side of the character on-screen. Not only did grammer silence his doubters, his performance is one of the best seen in the movie franchise.

Then when the 2011 prequel X-Men: First Class was released the role was instead given to James Bond star, British actor Nicholas Hoult. and although it is known that 007's Q will return to play the young Hank McCoy AKA Beast, the only known characters to feature both the young and old versions have been Magneto (Michael Fassbender/Ian McKellen), Professor X (James McAvoy/Patrick Stewart) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman).

But now comes a rumor from ShowbizSpy that Grammer will cameo in the forthcoming ensemble sequel as the older, future version of Beast. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, so take this news with a piinch of salt until we recieve confirmation - probably from director Bryan Singer himself, as with the previous rumor regarding Halle Berrys on-screen presence.
