Kaiju: Knifehead

For this kaiju spotlight, I will be doing the Kaiju Knifehead from 2013's Pacific Rim.

In the beginning of Pacific Rim, the Jaegar team Gipsy Danger, Raleigh and Yancy Beckett, were sent in to take out another kaiju who had just emerged from the Breach. They would soon find that this battle would not go routinely as their battle started. Almost as soon as they got out there, one hit took Knifehead down. They thought they had won, but they were soon surprised. Knifehead, bloody and damaged, emerged from the water and soon attacked. Knifehead breched the hull and pulled Yancy from the pod, killing him. Knigehead continually pounded Gipsy to near pieces, but using all of his strngth, Raleigh fired the final blasts that ended the kaiju. This experience would change Raleigh and the the film completely.

Since he emerged from the Breach, Knifehead has been a fairly popular kaiju with fans. He has received a few collectable figures and will soon be receiving an 18 inch collectable from Neca. Pacific Rim is readily available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Blu-Ray 3D as well as a novel.
