While we wait to see if if Kirsten Wigg, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones sign on for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters remake the director and writer of the controversial movie is keen to keep the property in the headlines and has tweeted the movies release date.

Additionally Hitfix have reported to have some details on the movies plot, with possible roles for X-Men: Days of Futue Past's Peter Dinklage and former original star Bill Murray, yet after their initial posting they have been ordered by Sony Pictures to remove certain details - this usually happens when the information reported is either leaked from the movie, or hurtful to the movie.

From what we can decode it seems our all female lead cast are to get all new names and new characters; a pulished expert on the paranormal called Erin Garber, a TV ghost show host and former coleague of Garber called Abby Bergman, Bergmans partner (business or personal is unclear) and a subway worker called Patty, whom reportedly stumbles across the supernatural threat of the movie. Reportedly Sony are eager for Dinklage to play the movies villain (human or supernatural, again unclear) with Murray as sceptic out to prove the Ghostbusters as fakes.

Contary to common belief the part of Peter Venkman was originally written for John Belushi!

In all honesty the character of Garber sounds very much like Egon Spengler, with Bergman sounding very much like Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters 2's World of the Psychic), whereas the character of Patty sounds like a cross between Winston Zeddemore and Dana Barrett. As for what Patty discovers, we are guessing a river of slime beneath New York City.

Why, if he agrees to appear in this movie, is Bill Murray prepared to potentially ruin a franchise he helped build, a franchise that was co-created by his late friend Harold Ramis, after essentially boycotting Ramis and Aykroyds' long planned sequel for so many years? Furthermore, Why are Sony and Coumbia Pictures even entertaining Paul Feigs idea?
