Sorry for the giant delay, but the dinosaur-killing-eachother action is back! First, let's meet our contestants:
Utahraptor:
Utahraptor lived in the United States in the Early Cretaceous. This individual is 6 feet tall and 17 feet long.
And Majungatholus:
Majungatholus lived in Madagascar in the Late Cretaceous. This individual is 10 feet tall and 28 feet long.
BEGIN!
A male Majungatholus is walking through a forest, looking for a potential mate. He tries to pick up a scent, but finds nothing. He continues his search. It's hard to tell if he'll succeed or not. Eventually, he gets hungry. He also picks up a scent, but it's not a female Majungatholus, or a Majungatholus at all. He follows the scent, now looking for food.
After a few minutes, he still can't find the source of the scent. He continues his search for a dinosaur equivilant of KFC. (See what I did there?) Soon, he doesn't find the source, the source finds him.
The Majungatholus is caught off gaurd. When he realizes what happened, he is already bleeding on his side. After he quickly recovers, he sees what attacked him: a Utahraptor. The Utahraptor snarls at him, and leaps up into the air. The Majungatholus, only about six feet away, moves out of the area. The Utahraptor crashes onto the ground, and the Majungatholus moves in to fisish the kill.
He stares down at the raptor, and the raptor stares at him. They're both planning their attacks. The Majungatholus acts out of instinct, and moves his box-like jaws into finish the kill. When his jaws reach his target, it isn't there. The Utahraptor seemed to just disappear. The Majungatholus is confused, but not for long. He eventually feels a sharp pain on his back.
It's the Utahraptor! It left the scene and leaped up on the Majungatholus when he was about to attack. The Utahraptor continues to claw and bite the Majungatholus's back. Eventually, the Majungatholus shakes off the attacker. However, the Utahraptor won't give up. It charges the Majungatholus and tackles him. Having extremely tiny arms, it'll take a while for him to get up. Before he can, the Utahraptor shows up. It sticks it's sickle-like foot claw into the Majungatholus's neck and continues to kill the dinosaur.
The Utahraptor begins to eat the carcass, but soon he scents something. He ignores it and continues to eat his meal. Eventually, the scent gets closer. It's a female Utahraptor. The two share the mear, and then become mates. Their lives are good now, but not for some of our next contestants.
Winner: Utahraptor!
The Utahraptor's speed, claws, and intelligence helped it win this time.
