Those avoiding the new Planet of the Apes trilogy would argue that the movies are an exercise in futility and a lack of creativity and originality. Strangely enough, anyone who has seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes and intends to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes woud agree with the naysayers - Man unwittingly engineers its destruction with a virus (Resident Evil, 28 Days Later, real life fears over the Swine and Avian influenza's), leading to post apocalyptic future where the human race is oppressed by a superior force (Terminator, Mad Max, Fallout, Matrix etc). So, whats the point of atching such movies; we even though the eventully outcome. The answer is simple to explain, but not so easy for the naysayers to understand - its not the destination that matters, its the journey, the adventure; the how and the why, the reasons, the motives.
