After the massive success of Jurassic World many fans were surprised when Colin Trevorrow announced that he would not return to direct the sequel. Rumors surfaced that the American director was in talks with Disney and Lucasfilm, flaming speculation that the director may have been approached to direct a Star Wars sequel or spin-off. Now, courtesy of Lucasfilm President kathleen Kennedy we can confirm that Trevorrow will be directing Star Wars: Episode IX, the final instalment in the Star Wars Sequel trilogy.
