I have been wanting to cover some news on A Quiet Place ever since I first caught the trailer a month ago. Co-written (with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods) and directed by, and starring John Krasinski alongside his real-life wife Emily Blunt, A Quiet Place premiered at South by South West (SXSW) to rave reviews from the movie critics lucky enough to be in attendance at the film festival last weekend. Set for release in the US April 6th, 2018, A Quiet Place tells the story of a families survival while being hunted by deadly aliens that have invaded Earth and overwhelmed our military forces. The twist of the premise that makes this movie look interesting is that our family of survivors must remain silent, as the aliens will home in, without prejudice upon any unnatural sounds. This would be a difficult feat for a lone couple, nevermind one with children in tow, but to add a sense of urgency the official trailer (below) reveals that Emily Blunt's character is also heavily pregnant.

With such a simple premise and an interesting cast which includes young deaf actress Millicent Simmonds, A Quiet Place promises to be an interesting movie and the rave reviews at SXSW has only increased my personal hype for this movie. However, if the trailer intrigues you I would warn to avoid Variety's "so-called" review. Written by Owen Gleiberman this review has been criticized for not actually offered a critical opinion on the movie, but of actually spoiling the movies entire plot.
