Disney+ has introduced The Mandalorian, a delicious treat for every Star Wars fan to consume. Apart from the scenes being downright amazing, the show allows for further glimpses into this sci-fi universe. It also addresses several questions the previous shows in the series haven’t touched upon yet. So with that in mind, what are the 9 key things to know about the Mandalorian?

1. Blaster fire doesn’t stand a chance against Mandalorian armor

Firing a blaster rifle at a stormtrooper penetrates their defenses without breaking too much sweat. Try the same thing on a Mandalorian, and you’ll see it deflects the shots. Moreover, its robust construction is not to be scoffed at and can last for centuries on end. Plus, you can also see one of the Mandalorians shake off a bladed projectile. So it seems the Mandalorian armor has much more going for it than energy-based shot deflection.

2. Yoda’s species

This is more like raising a question as opposed to answering one, but nevertheless. Yaddling and Yoda, these two seem to belong to the same species, the details of which still elude the grasp of many fans. Since both were members of the Jedi council, it could be implied that the members of this species share a strong link with the Force. Baby Yoda seems to have it too.

3. Mandalorians are much more than nomads

Mandalorians are nomads, more or less. But it was not always the case. A long time ago, they were led by an individual named Mandalore (hence their name). It is the man who conquered the planet they’re living on.

4. The Mandalorians have grown more resilient to the Jedi

The Jedi-Mandalorian war has been going on for centuries. In the earlier times, Jedi had an edge due to their powerful lightsabers and the Force. It is like a strange magic the Mandalorians have no access to. But with their strong lightsaber-resilient armor and new tech, Mandalorians have become a worthy foe.

5. The Mandalorians are going through a political shift

Tarre Vizsla, a rare force-sensitive Mandalorian, has led his people toward a new era and replaced the old government with a new one. He didn’t focus their efforts on expanding the Empire as the original one did. Instead, they used diplomacy to foster peaceful coexistence between individuals in the galaxy.

6. Some Mandalorians remain true to their ancient ways

As it goes without saying, not every Mandalorian on the planet agreed with the view of the new government. Some of them chose to remain faithful to their old ways. As a result, they became exiled from the new society. Some of them even decided to form an allegiance with the Empire and fight in the name of the dark forces.

7. Bobba Fett most likely isn’t a Mandalorian

It turns out that Bobba Fett, one of the galaxy’s most fearsome bounty hunters and a famous representative of the Mandalorians, might not be one in the first place. Jango Fett is a pretender, for example. So the chances are that Bobba Fett came across a dead Mandalorian’s armor and ‘borrowed’ it for an unspecified time frame.

8. The Empire was not entirely wiped away

Some thought the Empire was done for good. But a fraction of it is still alive and kicking. Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon appears to be in command of a small army even though the Empire has been officially proclaimed as destroyed. As long as he (and the Empire’s ideology) is still around, the question presents itself… is the Empire truly dead?

Conclusion

As of the 12th of November 2019, the Mandalorian is out there for the fans to see. The first reactions were more than favorable, and according to IMDB, the piece is one of the best additions to the Star Wars universe.

As of right now, the Mandalorian is only streaming to viewers in the US. If you’re a die-hard Star Wars fan who lives outside of its borders, you’re probably shedding tears right now. On the other hand, those who have decided to buy VPN solutions are able to bypass this limitation and access the series.  After all, a monthly VPN subscription doesn’t cost more than a cup of coffee. Writing off one Starbucks latte in exchange for being able to access the show? A no-brainer indeed.

Now go grab some popcorn and tune in to the Mandalorian action everyone is raving about!
