Probably intentional. I find it easier to see zilla in this than gorosaurus. I’m really liking these designs.
yeah ill go make that
It does.
The more Theropod-like stance, the way the arms are positioned, and the way the dorsal fins curve forward is really reminiscent of Zilla/Godzilla 98.
Um....I'm not so sure about it...
That looks more like Zilla
That's one of Godzilla 2014's only good qualities. It has REALISM.
Well, then I hated Leatherback from Pacific Rim because he was too fat.
Kattozilla You want to start it?
actually yeah lets make that a topic
commercial monsters
Oh, I'll accept mini monsters too. Any "kaiju" is fine as long as its not a human or close to looking like humans. Aliens are acceptable.
Kattozilla If its a monster that's bigger and or longer then a person and is not human (aliens, lions, martians etc.) it counts. That goes for the vape and allergy commercial ones. From this comment on, monsters outside the godzilla series count, because why not? Also, I should make a topic on commercial monsters. I don't know what to title it, though.
Also, What the heck is up with those tentacles at 2:08?
oh god, that's awesome.
(reminds me of my fanmade frilled shark kaiju)
Found it with english subs
I like portions of Prometheus and parts of AC. I think I like them both about equally the same. AC has some very unique special effects that help tell the story. Stylistically AC has powerful scenes and definitely creates some great sci-fi suspension of disbelief.
Objectively on the other hand both movies for me have plots I just do not care for and so I agree with BigDave that to reveal the origins of the Alien was a mistake.
I would much rather have not known where the Alien came from. I would be just fine if only the Engineers had kept researching the Aliens as weapons of war.
The black goo that David drops from Juggernaut looked more effective and faster than the Aliens as bio-mechanical weapon anyway.
Obviously I want Scott to complete the films and wrap it all up if he can. Disney threw everything in the vault. It looks like there will never be another film. Not sure really what will happen. When Disney put everything away though that was not a good thing for the property as a whole.
Love looking back through this topic! Gonna work on populating it with even more fan art, I'm sure since 2017 there have been some new creations!
@Chris Duuuuuude you went for the dark and hopeful ending and I'm all for it. I love as it ramped up each film and ended off with a "No matter what happens to the planet, Godzilla will live on" sort of vibe. I dig it. Its really great to hear from you again too, I best hear from you again sometime :)
@SarcasticGoji ooooooh I see now. I had started watching the show too and I thought thats the type of similar approach you were going for. Either way though, the idea is pretty damn solid.
I still have yet to put my universe down ;-; I'll put it up soon!
I don’t really hear that. Maybe i’m judging it too much. I didn’t really have this problem until I tried to make my own version. I think i’ve mentioned my godzilla a billion times so i won’t say more, but it doesnt seem quite right for me now.
Maybe I should try listening to it differently.
I really like this Singular Point one of Reveiw though. It seems to evoke power and something else, i’m not exactly sure what yet.
SarcasticGoji,
The 1989 version is a re-recording. And while agree it doesn't evoke horror, I do think it provides a sense of aggressive power behind Godzilla. Of the pieces used to underscore Godzilla's character I think his march encompasses him best as a whole.
I’m going to try to listen the march portion differently, ali want to see how my views of it change.
I don’t mean that it evokes happiness. But it just doesn’t really work for me. It’s too bright and doesn’t really portray the horror or power. The Key in the 1954 and 1989 versions (which i assume are the same recording) do help with my problem, but it evokes more panic, I would use it more to focus on the people and military, not the monster.
Odd, not sure how you're missing it. Here's a direct link to when it starts. It's when Godzilla's firing his ray at the firetrucks.
I also don't agree it's a "happy" tune. It's certainly an action cue and a typical march, but I don't get anything happy from it.
Both examples are in different keys than the theme is usually played in.. maybe, but it doesn’t completely work for me
I dont hear the march at 3:35, I’ll move more around, in the clip though to find it. I do think it’s i’m a different key. It just seems too happy for me to work with.
SarcasticGoji,
I wasn't talking about the Fury portion. The march is heard during Godzilla's attack in that clip at the 3:35 mark and in the Shin Godzilla clip at the 1:30 mark. Slow or not, it's still the same theme.
Here's the Biollante entrance--A great example of its use after main characters struggle to keep Godzilla from returning:
Godzilla vs Biollante - Godzilla comes out of the volcano
wait isn’t it called the march section?
oh, yeah. I didn’t really mean the Fury Portion. I don’t know the names of the motif, but the one that played in shin, very slowly though.
SarcasticGoji,
It definitely played during Godzilla's attack in the original film. Skip to 3:35 here. It also played during Godzilla's landfall in Shin Godzilla--Check out 1:30 on this video.
Additionally it's heard multiple times when he's the main antagonist in the Heisei films, particularly when he's freed from the volcano in Biollante.
oh doubles again,
but gmk and Shin didn’t have this particular part during any scenes with godzilla in it. Just in the credits
I know but the theme sounds happy to me.. It wasn’t used in his rampage in 1954, and just doesn’t seem to work with it. Maybe when I see the scene itself it will be better.

SarcasticGoji,
Ifukube's Godzilla theme fits him no matter what. This portion was used plenty of times when he was the villain: Godzilla vs. Biollante, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs. Mothra, GMK, Shin Godzilla.
I mean it’s a good theme and all, But it doesn’t really fit an evil godzilla for me
It is the last form before ultima. The opening credits will tell you that
Probably the last form before Ultima, unfortunately...
