I am totally team Godzilla, but if I had to be a critic on this move this is what I would write! I really didn’t like the character casting for team Godzilla in GvK. The selection for the character “Josh “played by Julian Dennison and “Bernie” played by Brian Tyree just didn’t work. Subpar acting and script selection for those two characters were horrible. Kyle Chandlers character “Mark Russell” didn’t get enough screen time and only had a few lines. Madison’s character played by Millie Brown was just ok, but didn’t click with the other characters “Josh” and “Bernie”. Team Kong was way better in the acting portion of this movie. I know KOTM got a bad rap, but the acting in that movie was much better in my opinion, but the CG effects in KOTM can’t even compare to this movie. I think KOTM was just released at a bad time. As for GvK. Awesome! CG effects were out of this world! This movie titled Godzilla vs Kong is about their fight, not so much character acting, so I give this movie a 10 plus! We want more!
Its not like dub is erasing your subtitle verison

I HAVE said this before....
The Explored Galaxy as FAR as what we have seen in the Movies (Places we been to) FITS within a Small Area and Actually Smaller than EVEN the RED DOT in the Galaxy Image Shared.
The Green Circle is a Radius of 10'000 LY which would take the Nostromo over 210 Years to Reach!
With the ALIEN Franchise you can SET another Discovery/Horror between the Years 2150-2250 and NOT have to Conflict with the ALIEN Franchise.
Within the Franchise and the Prometheus Plot.... we ask the Following.
*Are the Engineers ONLY found on Planet 4 and LV-223? (UNLIKELY).
*Have the Engineers ONLY created Humanoids on Earth? (UNLIKELY).
*Could there have been Humans in other Parts of the Galaxy from Thousands of Years ago? (POSSIBLY)
*Have the Engineers unleashed or TESTED their Pathogen/Bio-Weapon on other Worlds before? (LIKELY).
*Was there some Organism that BEGAN the Strain of Xenovirus/Experiments on LV-223? (POSSIBLY).
*Could there be other OUTPOSTS like LV-223? (POSSIBLY).
And so its VERY LIKELY you could go to ANOTHER WORLD, that has something Related to the Pathogen Unleashed on it, or some Organism that is Connected to it, also VERY LIKELY there would be Worlds with Humanoids, and EVEN more Humans the Engineers had Seeded there. There is Guaranteed to be OTHER WORLDS the Engineers have some Outpost or Cities on.
And we CANT RULE OUT that some Worlds you have Engineers and Humans (or Humanoids) Living SIDE BY SIDE.
The Franchise does-not have to be CONTAINED within PLACES that either David or Ripley have BEEN/GOING!
We have a BIG GALAXY of Creation/Life and Horrors and we have BARELY gone and Scratched the Surface ;)
Indeed as Michart had indicated we see David has USED the Creation Tool (Pathogen) to Cross-Breed many Organisms to TAKE certain Traits and Combine them into ONE SUPER ORGANISM.
Dane Hallet had even confirmed that the Engineers had NOTHING to do with the Xenomorph (as far as the Direction they had taken).

@Indonator
Yes we saw those in Predator 2 as a Easter Egg, and with AVP 2004 then YES the Xenomorph was THOUSANDS of Years Old, but the AVP Franchise and Predator are NOT Considered Direct Canon. Certainly NOT as far as where RS had wanted to take us.
The Decision to make DAVID the Creator of the Xenomorph had come after Spring 2015, prior to that the Xenomorph Origins was NEVER going to be Told, and David was going to Create something ELSE that we would see some Connection to the Xenomorph with.
The Xenomorph Origins is something that has EVOLVED over the Years.
1977-1978 They was the Remains (Egg/Spore Stage) of some Ancient Organism that was somewhat Civilized (STARBEAST).
1979-1981 We had Ridley Scott indicate they was some Engineered Weapon that likely the Space Jockey had Created.
1985-1986 We had James Cameron introduce the Queen and Hive Aspect of the Xenomorph which then added some debate to that the Xenomorph could have been some Pre-Existing Organism the Space Jockey must have either attempted to USE as a Weapon or was attempting to Transport it for STUDY.
Since 1986 until 2009 then its Origins and Connection to the Space Jockey was KEPT a Mystery a ambiguous one. Various Comics, Video Games and AVP etc had indicated different Clues to their Origins but in CONTEXT to the ALIEN MOVIE Franchise it was kept a Mystery.
2009-2011 We had the work on the Prequels where the Xenomorph was indicated as a Engineered Bio-Weapon which had MANY Variants the Engineers had Experimented with and it seemed the ORIGIN to them came from Experiments on some other ANCIENT Organism.
2012 We had Ridley Scott say the Xenomorph came after the Outbreak on LV-223 some TWO Thousand Years ago, and seemed to indicate that something had EVOLVED in the Cargo Hold that then INFECTED the Space Jockey who then Quarantined the Derelict on LV-426 some Few Hundred Years after.
2013-2014 It seemed that the Xenomorph Origins would be STEERED AWAY from but David would Create something ELSE that maybe could Provide Clues to the Xenovirus/Pathogen and WHAT it could Create in the WRONG HANDS.
2015-2016 They worked on Alien Covenant where RS had decided that we SHOULD get to the ORIGINS of the Beast and LV-426 and decided to MAKE IT that David would be the Creator of the Xenomorph instead of something ELSE.
sidenote
ah goshdangit why do u get to be Gigan lol
but yeah do that
"They already had to shoehorn the xeno into A:C just to make it a 'Alien' movie"
I think a LOT of this was because they EVENTUALLY thought that the FANS would want to KNOW about the Space Jockey Event.... But they also wanted to keep the David becomes a Creator Plot from Earlier Drafts and so it seemed LOGICAL to them to GIVE those Answers to LV-426 would mean we have to SET-UP how we get their and SHOW that WHERE those Eggs came from and then they THOUGHT about LETS MAKE THEM the Creation of David.
The Origin of the QUEEN from ALIENS is something that had always been UP for Debate, it seems that RS may have seen it as a Evolutionary Mutation of the Xenomorph. It seemed that back between 2010-2011 the Idea that had was that the Engineers had been Experimenting with the Creation Tool, and some Organism to Create like 8 Variants of the Xenomorph, each being a BIT different and so each could have had a Different Procreation.
I do SUSPECT that IF we saw Ridley Scott go and Continue then he would have SHOWN us the EGG MORPH ;)
But when looking at the Prequels and Mutations/Monsters then it seems that a LOT of Success came from INFECTING a Human Egg Cell with the Xenovirus if you would... THIS is likely what CAUSED the Trilobite/Deacon.
Looking at Davids Notes it seems he Tried this with the Engineers but he FOUND that using a Human Reproductive System had given him his BEST Results.
And so i Expect that maybe Daniels would be a UNWILLING DONOR of Egg Cells to allow David to Create more Eggs.
I think the TALE at Play will FIT with the Themes of Playing GOD and especially when Creating something UNHOLY can lead to a Hubris, we also have the Search for Perfection. And so i WOULD NOT have RULED OUT us seeing that David encounters a Advanced Synthetic Model who is more Organic than even Walter and David then Transfers his A.I Soul to this NEW BODY...
He then gets INFECTED with his OWN XENOMORPH and Gives BIRTH to the First BIO-MECHANICAL Queen.
When David is talking about PERFECTING HIS QUEEN i think he is Basically looking at the BEST and Most Efficient way that he can Create Multiple Eggs and so to Infect individual Female Human Egg Cells would be something he would see as a LONG PROCESS.
I suspect that we would have seen David go and Create a Hybrid Human/Xenomorph that would become his Queen maybe? I think he saw this as a Better Route to Reproducing such Horrors.
"budget busters"
I think that YES to give us more Bio-Mechanical World would have COST a LOT, especially if Ridley Scott wanted to USE as many Actual Sets as he could (as opposed to Green Screen). But it seemed that the HR Giger Estate was NOT that Pleased about using a HR Giger Aesthetic, and who knows if they Decided to CUT BACK as they could not come to a AGREEMENT or maybe it would COST them?
I think some Fans were Disappointed at this Less BIO-MECHANICAL Aesthetic that we ENDED UP with.
Its interesting that you BRING UP about the Xenomorph!
Going back to 2012/2013 we had Ridley Scott say the NEXT MOVIE would NOT connect to ALIEN but would STEER AWAY and so by that he likely meant that it would NOT give us Xenomorphs, or explain WHAT happened no LV-426 and WHEN. But RS had indicated that THEY (David and Dr Shaw) would be going to the Planet of the Engineers where they would meet some Beings who are NOT really Gods and are FAR from Benevolent but David would be BRINGING HELL with him and WHAT would Happen if the Pathogen infected a God or Machine.
so the indication was back then THAT we would see David no doubt at some point UNLEASH the Pathogen on the Inhabitants of the Engineers World and we would get to see some of the EFFECTS.
Feb 2015 i had a Source who indicated to me that the NEXT MOVIE would have TWO MONSTERS and that they was NOT the Xenomorph but we would see some Connection (especially ONE of them) and that ONE of these MONSTERS would be Created by David and Dr Shaw plays a BIG ROLE in its Creation.
So again its indicated that David would CREATE a NEW MONSTER but it would NOT be our Classic Xenomorph.
When we look at the Khang Le Concepts again we seem to see that David looks responsible for Unleashing the Pathogen even as FAR BACK as 2014 and we get ONE MONSTER as a Result, but then David would conduct Experiments to Create something ELSE.... These Concepts DO-NOT look like our Xenomorph.
But indeed it would seem indicated that the Pathogen has some Genetic Link to our Xenomorph.
It would seem that maybe when Dante Harper had came in, but CERTAINLY when John Logan had worked on his Drafts from the SUMMER of 2015 that THEY had then decided that the NEXT MOVIE would give us the XENOMORPH Origins to then SPOON FEED us to LV-426
And so YES "thought they were getting a little to far from the essential ideas" it seemed that instead of showing us something that has Traces of DNA, they Decided to give us the FULL XENO Origins and take us to Eventually the Space Jockey Event
Look at the debate “Kattozilla” had with Gman on the shodai Goji ad
I was gonna tell you, but I’ll let you find out
NOOOO
Its like everything else. Im watching it with subtitles
Haha...that...
wasn't a glitch
finally someone noticed! lol
Also, I keep getting a weird glitch were Kattozilla and SarcasticGoji's profiles keep getting mixed up (both in name and profile image). Comments that are posted by Kattozilla will suddenly change to say that they were posted SarcasticGoji and vise versa. It's really confusing, especially when I try to respond to one of their comments. I don't know if this is occurring with other users or just me.

Then I would probably get blasted because if you get too close without showing any signs of fear he would probably take that as a threat. Or not, idk.
First I would admire his sheer presence. Then, I would get closer but not show any signs of fear or aggression. I would keep a blank face or perhaps a smile would come through because, like, I'm standing in front of Godzilla!
maybe its for the people that aren't as savvy with customization
So I wasted my time customizing my Bandai Ultima figure?!!
Either that in 1997 in predator 2 on trophy wall was xenomorphs skull and in AVP 2004 they readed that they both fight for tousend years
I'm so excited! I hope one comes with an Atomic Breath Effect
I think I’d follow him out of curiosity. I would not bow though, Godzilla is an animal not a god. And we have seen, it can be killed.
I just wanted to mention it.
Zoombomafu was before Wild Kratts I think
but the Kratt Brothers were on both shows, yes.
1: anxiety breakdown because i'd think the world is ending
2: run
3: both
Zoombomafu was my childhood. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought "Titanus Zoombomafu" when I saw the Lemor Titans
Zoombomafu? I thought Wild Kratts
Kattozilla,
But likewise non-realism isn't against art either. Fictional worlds can abide by realism, but it doesn't mean they should. I also disagree with the assertion that the seriousness involved in the message and themes of Shin Godzilla couldn't have been conveyed via tokusatsu. It worked for the original film, Return of Godzilla and GMK. In fact Shin Godzilla was initially supposed to use practical effects and animatronics for Godzilla. And a great deal of the destruction sequences were miniatures.
7amey,
Which is fine, but I prefer what Godzilla helped create. In Japan Godzilla is the king of an entire special effects style that spawned many other Toho sci-fi/kaiju films, Gamera, Daimajin, Ultraman, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, etc. Under CG he's simply a pauper to stuff pioneered by James Cameron and Spielberg.
It was a great show. It helped to cement my childhood love for animals.
Yes, Jovian sadly died in 2014 due to kidney failure...
Though he has a lot of children and grandchildren, so his legacy lives on.
Rest In Piece, King.
yeah i heard he died in 2014?
Never heard of that show but I'll look into it.
Zoboomafoo/Jovian (RIP) was a Coquerel's Sifaka.
There was a family of ring-tailed lemurs that were recurring animals on the show named Ring, Tail, and Little Leaper (Yes, I remembered that from my childhood)
Zoboomafoo/Godzilla crossover, anyone?
haha i'm kidding,
zoboomafoo isn't a ring-tail-
The reason why I prefer CGI is the graphical details. The way Godzilla's pupils wriggled, his nostrils flaring and saliva sprinkling in his mouth while he roared. He just felt like a living, breathing creature. You can never make a sophisticated rubber suit to convey such a feeling. It's not just about realism, it's about the vividness of the iconic character himself.
I just watched Alteori's video and then got a little lazy...
I don’t think that realism is against art or bad. Even fictional worlds can and should abide by their realism. I was just saying that CGI isn’t completely bad. And I think realism can help with the artistic value or message of the film. In Shin Godzilla, realism helped convey the message, The realistic CGI of Godzilla helps ground it in the world it’s in. I think if it had less realism with godzilla it’s message would have been depleted. Tokusatsu is great but it’s stiff and rigid. Shin godzilla’s movement resembles it, but has much more fluidity and articulation
It's official.

Sorry for taking so long to reply.
Scorpius rex was made with scorpionfish DNA, one of the most venomous creatures on Earth, it seems to regrow the venom spines on its tail very quickly so it could inject multiple doses of the venom. It's also much larger than Indoraptor so it might have a size advantage.
Kattozilla,
But what if realism isn't the point?
See this is what a lot of people miss about tokusatsu, to paraphrase Shiro Sano from GMK, it's not about looking realistic. It's about mood and atmosphere.
Most western effects, especially Hollywood are about representational art. Whereas tokusatsu is about presentational art.
See, representational art demands that special effects must recreate our reality and trick the audience into believing it's real. It represents how something might be seen in our world.
But presentational art creates its own reality where the visual world is vastly different from our own. It "presents" its own reality--Not unlike stage theater. Do the sets and costumes in stage theater always look 100% realistic? Of course not. It's not suppose to.
It's the same for Godzilla and the world that Tsuburaya created with tokusatsu. And this world allows stories that typically wouldn't work with representational art. It allowed all the crazy adventures with Godzilla, Gamera and Ultraman to exist.
Most western audiences believe that if something does not look "realistic" it must be a flaw. But that's not the case with ever culture. Because something doesn't look realistic, doesn't mean it's flawed, sometimes the goal is very different.
I think it's very important we examine the words of film historian/critic, David Kalat:
"That is not to say the effects look 'realistic,' but realism was not the point. American audiences conditioned to expect realism conclude that anything short of the goal must be a mistake. By contrast, Japanese art often values beauty, poetry, or fantasy above realism."
