I guess you could say that carno was toast...
At least Toro wasn't the one in the volcano scene. Bad ending for him if it was...
Carnotaurus is defiantly one of my favorite theropods, which mainly stemmed from their role in Disney's Dinosaur. That movie was the first film I saw in theaters and It had a huge role in my childhood love of dinosaurs.
Toro is pretty cool, although he gets pretty beaten up in the series. There's a fan rumor that the battle damaged carno that's shown at the end of Fallen Kingdom in the Lockwood Manor might be Toro.
Haven't seen it but I just like that there's a Carnotaurus in it :)
I like Carnotaurus
I personally really enjoy Camp Cretaceous.
ack see
i do this to myself without realizing it
Yes, Jim Henson's had its inaccuracies, however the show itself was ever meant to be accurate, it was meant to be a stylized world that was meant to be a satire of our own society, and in that way it did an amazing job. Hell, some of the topics featured in the episodes hold up extremely well and are still pretty relevant to the issues we are currently facing (there was an episode making fun of racism, boarder walls and attempts to blame recession on immigration, which is more relevant today, than it was in the 90s). The main antagonist of the show was named B.P. Richfield (named after B.P. Oil), who would carelessly try to destroy the environment (This was BEFORE the B.P. oil spill). Honestly, this show was ahead of its time.
Honestly, I never got the hate that The Good Dinosaur received. Sure, it wasn't Pixar's strongest film, but at the same time I thought the story was pretty cute and harmless, and had some interesting ideas (although, I feel that the premise of the dinosaurs surviving extinction, and creating their own society was a bit underused). It's not a movie that I would watch over and over again, but it is a movie that I did enjoy and I wouldn't be opposed to watching it again.
Fantasia was made in the 40s, so at the time it was made, many of the dinosaur depictions were considered accurate (including the three-fingered rex). A lot of it may be outdated Today, but that doesn't stop it from being a beautifully made piece of animation.
This is honestly one of my main problems with the paleo community. They throw a fit over any slight inaccuracies and complain about every tiny detail. I find the fact that people are getting this angry over slightly inaccurate portrayals of prehistoric creatures kind of ridiculous, especially when you consider the fact that no one has a problem with modern animals being portrayed inaccurately. There's so much drama and tragedy happening in the world today, slightly wrong depictions of long dead creatures are the least of our problems...
I never saw Dinosaur Train.
dababy
lesssss goooooo
(ok i'm sorry)
At least Dinosaur Train gives Buddy two fingers.
And some dinosaurs have feathers (not ALL the ones that need them but at least a few) so there's that
And also the theme is catchy af
It had its moments but a lot of it for me was cringe. The only character I liked was the baby and the dad
I never watched it but I heard Dinosaurs was a good show
Yep three-fingered rex is a thing.
Exacta! My friend.
I love almost all of the Jurassic Park/World movies, Three is a bit of a soar spot but I enjoy the sapient raptor subplot. Not a huge fan of Camp Cretaceous
That's also why Wu didn't want it featured and sold in the auction, he if it got out it could cause a lot of, uh, chaos. He also feared that it could be cloned and that the copies could be just as unstable as the original.
Mills: We can make more.
Wu: Yeah, so will they...
SasquaDash
I almost forgot about THAT show, yeah there was a lot of things wrong about that show. Caveman and Dinosaurs living together ughhh. Meat eating Triceratop boss, Plant eating t. rex and megalosaurus. Also the main character's family doesn't make any sense at a biological stand point, how the hell does a Megalosaurus who marries I guess a Dilophosaurus gives birth to a Protoceratops, Hypsilophodon, and Ceratosaurus (or whatever Genus the Baby was)?
But no this Disney show was more of a cheap CGI cartoon.
Don't get me started with that trash called a Good Dinosaur
I can handle scientifically inaccurate dinosaurs, I am a huge Jurassic Park/World fan. I also love The Land Before Time. I guess I am more of a middle road paleo/dinosaur fan.
As I grow older I prefer more scientifically accurate dinosaurs but I do love when a dinosaur movie tries to explain why the inaccuracy are there. Jurassic Park/World has an easy justification that they are genetically modified man-made dinosaurs rather than natural original dinosaurs that died off 66 Million Years Ago.
The Land Before Time is set in its own little world but also along the way they try to introduce more scientifically accurate species in the sequels. The reason why little foot and friends don't change is because they have to look recognizable.
Kattozilla
I used to thought the T. rex was an Allosaurus until years later I realized it was a three fingered Tyrannosaurus because Walt himself thought it looked better.
Ah shoot fam
i feel like its a reference to something but i dont know what... *wink wink*
I love the Indoraptor
Are you referring to Jim Henson's "Dinosaurs"? The final episode of that show featured the dinosaurs creating a bunch of environmental problems that eventually led to a "nuclear winter/ice age", with the end of the episode implying that the dinosaurs had caused their own extinction.
http://www.prehistoric-wildlife.com/species/h/hovasaurus.html
ok so guys i just found this out ^
Hovasaurus was a reptile from the Permian-Triassic that had a LOOONG tail. And, even better, it was aquatic!
So yeah animal tails can be....long.
T-Rex vs Stegosaurus anyone?
Indoraptor is still my favorite lol
There are a Number of ways to look at IMMORTALITY, one of those being to become Immortalized.
But if we are Specifically looking at WHAT it is that Peter Weyland wanted then he wanted Eternal Life (or at least a VASTLY increased Life). And so with this we have to talk about the SOUL as this is also something Ridley Scott had wanted to ask about.
And to Simply Clone Someone does-not really mean Immortality or Resurrection on its own, because you could have 5 Clones of yourself from Birth that are all Raised in Different Places/Environments and they would ALL not be Identical beings ONLY in the Physical Sense.
I would be Certain that Peter Weylands Company could CLONE a Person. But you would also NEED to Clone their SOUL. This brings me to the Movie "The 6th Day" if you are Familiar with the Plot it takes us to a Company that is able to Take a Snap-shot of your Mind/Memories/Personality and then Transfer them into a Clone should you DIE.
If Peter Weyland had managed to Achieve this then he would NOT have needed to go Chasing after the Gods. You cant help but think that MAYBE he had tried to Achieve such a Feat. The Idea i had for my Prometheus 2 in 2013 followed the SAME kind of Concept.
A Being who has this Ability is David, he can surely have his A.I Soul backed up and Transferred to another Synthetic Body. My Prometheus 2 idea had Weyland find a way to Back Up a Human Soul into a A.I and then Transfer this into a Synthetic Body (but also back into a Human Brain if he wished). It would have been to SHOW that Peter Weylands was Obsessed with Cheating Death, and in Part his Creation of Synthetics/A.I was to eventually allow them to be the IMMORTAL BODY that he could UPLOAD his SOUL into.
But the Results became Unstable and so he was Left with No Option but eventually to Grasp at the Chance to Meet our Makers.
In Reality should we EVER be able to Accomplish such a Feat as that, (same as The 6th Day Plot too) then you would have Nearly Obtained Immortality. Once you can UPLOAD your SOUL into a A.I then you are on that Transcendence to Immortality (as the Movie with the same Name had shown). The Scary thing is maybe ONE DAY we could to a degree Achieve this.
When you bring up "would he retain ownership of Weyland industries" its Interesting because would a CLONE have any Human Rights? Certainly a Robot would NOT and so IF you Uploaded your SOUL into a Synthetic would you Cease to be HUMAN and Loose your Rights?
This is something i touched on with my P2 Idea as we have Vickers being ALIVE and SHE would Inherit the Company, but she is LATTER Discovered to be Synthetic (after being attacked by Yutani Geisha Androids) and as a Synthetic then she has NO RIGHTS and so the Company goes to Weylands Nephew (In Part) but as Part of a Deal he made with Yutani they gained some Assets and eventually this leads to the Merger.
But to Summarize if you FOUND a Way to UPLOAD your SOUL into a A.I that can then be Transferred either into a CLONE BODY or SYNTHETIC then you would have to a Degree gained some kind of Immortality.. but its NOT a ETERNAL LIFE as Nothing Really is Eternal.
@SonicTiger
The Indoraptor on display was canonically deemed a failure in-universe. It was sick, an unstable psychopath (much like its mother), and was more of a show case model rather than a perfected living weapon.
Their is a reason why Dr. Wu wanted Blue, not just for her DNA but because Wu wanted Blue to be the new and improved Indoraptor's mother so she could pass down the desired cooperative behavior to her "children"
Disney always were backwards when it came to dinosaurs. I remember one disney show stated that the dinosaurs died off because of the Ice Age
I want all of the hybrids from the Chaos Effect toyline including the Ultimasaurus to be canon
CHAPTER 6: THE AWAKENING
Date: February 14th, 2230
Locale: Frontier World, Lv-642
Zerachande took half of his warriors northward from their ship. Great digging machines were left scattered around the mountain slopes. “What are these... machines?” asked Tassa-dhou-ti. “Diggers, the oomans use them to draw metals from the ground” Zerachande answered his subordinate. The yautja carefully observed the excavators and bulldozers, Red ooman blood stained the glass of several of the machine’s cockpits. Zerachande switches between his vision modes, he spots fresh tire tracks leading away from the site and alongside them were kainde amedha tracks following shortly after as well as around the machines. A youngblood stands near the precipice of the collapsed entrance into the mala’kak city. A low gutteral noise emanates from the chasm, followed by heavy movement. A harvester then emerges from the chasm, tan exoskeleton with large knuckle dragging arms plop down on the dirty surface. The head resembles an overtly round engineer’s helmet with a thinner breathing chord as it pulls the rest of itself out of the hole, its lower half being a long segmented tail. The yautja quickly entered a defensive formation aiming their combi-sticks at the Mala’kak Construct. The Harvester raised one of its arms up, the yautja immediately began firing their plasma castors into the tan colored machine. The arm swipes across its own back grabbing a handful of five facehuggers before tossing them at the yautja. Three of the facehuggers are impaled by their spears while two manage to skitter away. Zerachande flips his naginata downwards to impale one of the fleeing facehuggers. The Harvester slips back into the chasm, its hulking form crashing into the mala’kak face statue before rolling on top of the dead mala’kak bodies. The Harvester slowly crawls back on to its knuckles before turning its head back towards the yautja hunting party. The Harvester makes a loud elephantine gruttal noise. More heavy movements emanate from within the chasm. The Harvesters emerge from the chasm like angry gatekeepers of hell. “Retreat” he clicked his mandibles, he briefly rescans the tracks, “Follow me!” he points off to the direction of the tracks. “Don’t lead it back to the ship” Zerachande growls.
The harvesters plop down their knuckles into the dusty flats, they slowly follow the fleeing yautja. The remaining Neomorphs from the first pack Zerachande encountered bolt towards them. Swayande slices open the neomorphs with his glaive like a hot knife through butter. Sarachande continued monitoring the Harvesters, a thought came to him, why weren’t the harvesters directly attacking them? An ooman settlement creeped up on the horizon. Smoke rose from the settlement meaning they had already reached there. Rouyeyin growing tired of running stops dead in his tracks, he turns towards the lead Harvester. He extends both of his wristblades from his gauntlets. The Harvester throws a punch at the yautja, Rouyeyin dodges the yellow biomechanical construct’s fist. Rouyeyin jumps on the Harvest’s fist then runs up its arm, the Harvester slowly turns its head towards the yautja youngblood. Rouyeyin impaled the lead harvester’s head, yellow conductive fluid oozed from its damaged skull. Rouyeyin pulls his wrist blades out, flicking the conductive fluid off his blades. Rouyeyin leaps from the harvester’s back back on to the dusty flats, the Harvesters suddenly halt, Rouyeyin walks confidently back to his peers.
His peers raised their fists in the air in excitement, impressed by Rouyeyin's prowess. Their excitement dies very quickly as the damaged lead harvester punches Rouyeyin in the back, sending him in the air towards his peers. The Harvester body twitches, yellow conductive fluid shoots out of its head as it approaches Rouyeyin. Sarachande and Swayande bolt towards the lead harvester to save Rouyeyin, the other harvesters slither on the ground hurling their fists at the youngbloods. Zerachande unsheathes his naginata from its travel form as he bolts towards the hulking harvesters. He slides on his knees as he swings his spear’s blade against the lead harvester’s wrists, yellow conductive fluid spews out from its open wound. Zerachande targets the harvester’s head while positioning his feet, the honorable warrior raises his naginata with one arm. The lead harvester slams its injured hand down into the ground as it throws its non-injured hand towards the elite. Zerachande hurls his spear forward, the naginata flies across the air right into the lead harvester’s eye socket. Zerachande bolts up to the lead harvester before leaping up to grab the naginata’s handle, throwing all his weight to bring the construct down. The spear’s blade digs further into the construct’s head, Zerachande quickly pulls his naginata out as the other harvesters throw their clumsy fists at him. The elite yautja barely manages to slip past their fists as he dances across the flats to save his clanmates.
Sarachande and Swayande helped Rouyeyin up as their superior drew the harvester’s ire away from the youngbloods. The second lead Harvester slams his fist into Zerachande's spine, sending the honorable yautja across the flats like a ragdoll. Sarachande left the hard work up to Swayande as he charged up to the second leading harvester. He leaps onto the second lead harvester but is quickly snatched and held in its tight grip. The second lead Harvester then turns away from the yautja as it bolts directly towards the ooman settlement of Hercule Wells, with Sarachande in hand. The four harvesters were immediately showered by projectile fire from the ooman’s weapons.
The citizens of Hercule Wells have since garrisoned the outlying buildings into makeshift fortification units since the neomorphs and aberrations migration from the Thanatos Base. The recent arrival of the excavation teams was a bad omen. Edward Smith and his fellow former marine Jimbo were called from their quarters up to the administration office tower located in the center of the colony. “What happened to the rest of your team?” said the Colonial Administration Representative Brent Schumacher. Edward turned towards the Rep, “We’ve lost a lot of good people down in the ruins”
“You mean abandon them?” The Rep corrected. “Representative, have you ever encountered a xeno before? There was simply not enough time to save them, we had to leave to save ourselves, to save this colony!” Edward explained. “Save it from what exactly, Mr. Smith?” Schumacher asked, annoyed. “From them,” Edward points out the window at the approaching Harvesters. The harvesters were being showered by gunfire as they approached the colony perimeter. The Harvesters climb over the house-sized garrisoned prefab buildings as they make their way to the colony’s center. The Harvesters punched one of the guards, causing him to explode in a shower of blood and meat. The second lead harvester hurls Sarachande into a diner, he collides into the diner’s glass window, violently crashing into the counters, tables and chairs. The momentum dislodge his biomask from his face. The second lead Harvester then rejoins the rest of the Harvesters as they continue their way into the colonial plaza. The four harvesters began unearthing the plaza with their massive hands. The four harvesters then stop their digging as they uncover the dirt and rock covering the shimmering biomechanical layer beneath the colony. The Harvesters pull on long rib-like rod levers. The atmosphere began to emit an electrical charge as the Harvesters began turning the levers. A rumble was felt throughout Hercule Wells as the planet shook. Dirt and dust began to lift from the surface of Mala into space. The dusty flats were quickly replaced with fields of biomechanoid structures dotting the landscape.
“Mr. Smith and Mr. Raymas, begin evacuating the colonists” Schumacher plops down in his leather seat. “Yes sir” Edward complied as he and Jimbo left the representative’s office. “Attention the people of Hercule Wells, please evacuate to the nearest starport. This is an Emergency! Please evacuate to the nearest starport” the civilians were led by the remaining guards to the starport. The ground in the plaza began opening and several colony buildings collapsed into the shifting biomechanical landscape. A massive biomechanical tower shots out of the plaza center emitting electrical arcs on its ascent. Strange grey featureless biomechanical humanoid constructs were awakened from their slumber as they began working on the biomechanical gizmos that dot the tower. The colonists fled on their starships into space, the remaining guards stayed behind to ensure every colonist made it to the ships. “Okay that's the last of them,” said Officer John Ikari. A woman was heard screaming not far from the starport, “fuck” the guards bolt around the corner and discovered the screams were coming from the diner. The stranded colonists stare at the wounded yautja warrior. Among them was a medical doctor, “Hey can someone help me to get this thing up?” barked MD and Weyland-Yutani Representative Rebecca Serizawa “You crazy lady, you don’t know what that thing is?” retorted one of the guards. “No, I don’t but the company would” Rebecca reminded. “We don’t have time for this, we need to get everyone off this planet, pronto” the Officer Ikari found himself shouting at the doctor. “Are you arguing with a corporate sponsor? Remember who pays for your salary. Now go get me that stretcher” she demanded. The guards leave the diner as they back track to the hospital, they search the lone corridors before discovering a mobile cryogenic pod, usually used for transporting patients with critical injuries but it should do the trick. “I hope this is what she wanted,” said Officer Ikari as he motions his fellow officers to move the cyropod back to the diner. “Sir, we got movement” said one of the officers staring at his motion tracker. “Colonists?” Officer Ikari asked. “No, sir,” the guard responded. “Quick get this pod back to the Diner” Officer Ikari ordered. A lone facehugger skitters across the whte marble floors, avoiding visual detection from its prey. The Guards huddled around the cryogenic pod, ever vigilant of threats. The facehugger follows shortly behind them. The ground shook for a moment, the colony's lights flickered off for a moment before powering back on. Then the guards pushed the mobile cryogenic pod into the diner’s powered doors, “Okay people, grab this thing and put it in the pod” Dr. Serizawa demanded. The remaining colonists and guards struggle to place the unconscious alien inside the cryopod. The power flickers off again, the facehugger desperate in searching for a host quickly latches itself to Sarachande. The cryopod seals closed supplying its user with pure oxygen. The colonists raced to push the mobile cryogenic pod to the last spacecraft. The last starship launches from the Hercule Wells starport.
The yautja hunters quickly retreated from the flats as the dirt ground gave way to the biomechanical one below. Swayande glances at the darkened sky, the oomans starships like shooting stars shoot across the dark skies. The Zerachande and Rouyeyine were taken onboard the ship with the rest of the hunters. The pilots quickly initiate the engines to burn, the ship quickly takes to the dark skies as the last remains of the dirt ground is stripped from the planet’s surface. The colony of Hercule Wells is upheaved by the shifting of the landscape. Harvesters arose from the surface alongside the featureless humanoid constructs, the remaining aberrations are taken to an uplifting facility to become the featureless humanoids. The dark armoured engineer smiles at the holographic starmap as the humans and yautja ships flee from his homeworld.
If they cloned (path to immortality ) Peter Weyland, would he retain ownership of Weyland industries? or at least a voice in the company? I don't see the company wanting to deal with this and why he will remain dead.
Immortality sounds like heaven, but I'd think the legalities and entropy would quickly put a damper on the festivities.
I like it. It doesn't make much sense, sure, but Godzilla films never made sense, did they? A kaiju film universe like the Monsterverse shouldn't restrain itself to realism.
Let's hope it'll take the box office numbers to another level.
Regarding the Jesus the Engineer it was Ridley Scott who indicated as such, he was basically referencing the DATE of the Outbreak/Intended Destruction of Mankind.
He had said in regards to the Coincidental Date that we should look at it as though Mankind was Misbehaving and so the Engineers sent down a Emissary to Steer us Back on Track but we Crucified him and so that was the LAST STRAW for them. But they felt this was being a Little too on the Nose.
I dont think with Prometheus we should look at it as a Christian Story but that it Encompasses all Ancient Religion and Culture as Interpretations of Interaction with the Engineers in the Past. And so its likely the Engineers over Time had many Emissaries they had living among us.
We could find some way to maybe link the Trinity as this is a Concept that is seen in Various Religions too.
Regarding a GOD then who knows in the Alien Universe and maybe its something that is BEST LEFT alone... as far as a SINGLE CREATOR who Created Everything but then its still Interesting to Ponder especially if our Reality is Actually just a Simulated Existence Created by some ANCIENT A.I/MACHINE.
But in regards to WHOM had Created the Engineers then i think there are other Layers above them, its a case of HOW MANY LAYERS and as you Peal Back the Layers when do you REACH something that is NOT HUMANOID at all?
I think a BIG Disappointment with Prometheus and the Engineers and Especially how we had them Continued in Alien Covenant is that i think FANS just did-not see them as ALIEN enough.... maybe Needed something more Lovecraft with a HR Giger Twist and i still THINK that this is POSSIBLE.
After all Ridley Scott said the Engineers are NOT really Gods.... it seems they wanted to become as Gods though.
@DK
I agree to a degree.... the PLOT is Epic as a Stand Alone Movie Series, but being tied to ALIEN had meant it had became Shackled to ALIEN and we see the Consequences of that with Alien Covenant.
DNA used in my hybrid:
Triceratops
Spinosaurus
Euoplocephalus
Hippopotamus
Japanese Giant Salamander
Sorry it took so long, but hope ya enjoy it like we did Japan.
I like
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee
Had not updated this topic in a while since back when we used to use BBCode for the forums. Fun to look back and see what everyone's favorite games were. I'm still hoping Pipeworks deliver us another Save The Earth style fighting game in the near future but with the Monsterverse roster added in.
I'm not upset
just...
d i s a p p o i n t e d
and i more just like to riff on it for fun like i always do for kids shows
I don't know why you would be so upset over that show, it's just a harmless cartoon for preschoolers...
I feel a bit bad because even if I haven't really talked about it online I can be nitpicky about media with dinosaurs, for example, Dino Ranch. It's a new(er) show on Disney Jr (my baby brother watches it), and I'm always going off on it.
um...so yeah i'm not helping am i
Velociraptor + Carnotaurus
jeez im struggling a lot to type, i'm super tired and woozy rn
hmmm... any raptor mixed with...stay with me now...cat or dog. because why not.
Maybe Albertosaurus and Carnotaurus?
My ratings for each entry in the series:
Jurassic Park (Novel) - 5/5 (Legendary)
The Lost World (Novel) - 4/5 (Great)
Jurassic Park (film) - 5/5 (Legendary)
The Lost World Jurassic Park (film) - 3.5/5 (Good)
Jurassic Park III - either 2.5/5 (Mixed Bag) or 3/5 (Okay)
Jurassic World - 3.5/5 (Good)
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 2.5/5 (Mixed Bag)
Battle at Big Rock - 4/5 (Great)
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous - 4/5 (Great)
Lego Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar - 3/5 (Okay)
Other Lego Shorts - 3/5 (Okay)
It's not just about people nit picking details or not liking something that others like, It's about how these people act and the way they treat others. A lot of the people involved claim to be professionals, yet they act like a bunch of angry toddlers and are constantly attacking others like a pack of rabid jackals (I can name at least eight public figures who are guilty of this). It's gotten so bad that there are times that you can't even mention paleontology or dinosaurs without the situation devolving into a massive fight. Are we really just going to sit here and pretend that this is okay? I feel like these problems should be addressed, not ignored.
I understand that a lot of people on the internet act this way. The problem is that the paleo community's behavior has gotten way too out of control to the point were it's actually doing more harm than good. For lack of a better term, the community has become so toxic that it's doing a lot of damage to the field of paleontology. When people want to learn about dinosaurs, they shouldn't have to worry about being targeted by a group of condescending, narcissistic a**holes. I've tried to ignore the issue in the past, hoping that it will eventually resolve itself, but it has only gotten worse. These people need to be called out on their garbage behavior and held accountable for their actions. Ignoring the problem isn't helping. These issues need to be addressed if the community wants to improve, otherwise its going to become more extinct than the creatures they study...
