The studio animating the Skull Island series is Powerhouse Animation, which is known for Castlevania and Blood of Zeus, so I assume (and hope) that the animation will look similar to those series.
I just like Godzilla more so…….
But I do wonder how they will handle the animation in the series. Will it be traditionally animated entirely or go the same route as Singular Point. I mean I think singular pig is the best Godzilla media we’ve gotten recently, but I liked it best when Sarunga was hand drawn. (But I did appreciate how the Kaiju looked like the painted background)
And the studio involved has only really done traditional projects, so I’d assume it’s traditional.
I mean 3D can be done well, but in the Kaiju genre it is either amazing, or looks like Ultraman Netflix. (I only made it through one episode, the movement was so weird)
I'm really excited to see what the live action Monarch/Godzilla show will be like, but personally I'm more excited for the Skull Island series. The fact that it will be animated and set on Skull Island gives them less restriction with what they can show, which means it'll probably have more monsters, more action, and they'll be able to get more creative with how they explore Skull Island and the MonsterVerse mythology. Plus it's being created by the studio that did the Castlevania series, which had amazing animation (hopefully the animation for this show is in the same style).
Also, I'm hoping that it ends the horrible track record that Kong has with animation...
I love how parts of the fight were shot from the perspective of looking out windows, as if you were actually there witnessing the fight. I also really liked that they showed the people trapped in the city, it reminded you that it wasn't just some fun action scene and that people were actually caught in the middle of the battle, which made it feel a lot scarier.
I loved the framing in G14’ it was always from the perspective of people, it was amazing. They did that a little in KOTM, but not really in GVK.
According to some sources, Prometheus is Frankenstein's monster. I vote for fantasy because based on this type, I can create compare and contrast essays. On home page my friend chooses the real subjects, but I think that is too boring. Finally, maybe the best option is the combination of them.
Same. I re-watched 2014 Yesterday, and I really love how suspenseful some of the scenes are. The movie has a really ominous tone to it and a feeling of impending doom, which was somewhat replicated in King of the Monsters, but was kind of missing from Godzilla vs Kong. The scene where the Male MUTO hatches and scene where the Female MUTO attacks the train are really suspenseful and legitimately scary. Even Godzilla himself feels like a mysterious force of nature, where you're not really sure if he's a hero protecting the world, or just an animal stalking his prey.
I hope they return to the cryptic, tenebrous tone of Godzilla (2014).
I really like her lips and teeth, so yeah I wouldn't mind this hybrid design. The Newborn was just plain ol'nasty
Damn I would have really liked that they kept Shaw alive
It would be cool, and they would have plenty of material to work with, but I'm fine with it just taking place between G14 and KOTM.
That would be cool, but we’ve just had confirmation it’s between G14’ and GVK
As I've said before, it could be possible that this show takes an anthology format and fills in the gaps between G14 and KOTM, KOTM and GVK, and post-GVK. I think it could be the best way to handle this show, and to make sure it's not too short or too long.
Indeed Thoughts_Dreams, the source is questionable with no other way to validate their claims. However, I have yet to find a duplicate of this image anywhere else so far. So, for now it remains 50/50!
It is way better than the Newborn design, though. So I wouldn't be mad at all if it proves to be legit.
@G. H. (Gman): Exactly. If general audiences see Toho monsters no differently than original monsters, is there really a point in licensing more of them in the future? This is why I keep arguing that purchasing Showa Era monsters like Gorosaurus, Manda, Baragon, and Kumonga would be pointless, as Legendary could just make their own similar looking monsters and have them fill the same role.
At least its prettier than the newborn
XarKhaan,
No one is blaming the box office on them--The initial point is including them didn't do anything to attract general audiences who probably saw them no differently than an original creation. (Like the MUTO.)
And while we can blame its release date being put in the center of a Disney minefield, keep in mind it was WB that moved the film to that claustrophobic window from a much safer March release date. So they must've thought it was going to do better. (For some reason.) Reviews likely didn't help either as audiences tend to depend on that when there's an influx of blockbusters they're not sure which to spend money on.

First I would like to say welcome, I hope that you’ll like it here. Second about ending the prequels it depends. I would like to see them end the prequels if
1. They become less about David
2. Have better human characters
3. Have more of the Engineers and
4. make sure that David didn't create the alien that we see in the movie of 1979, he just did his own version.
Making it so humans create androids that create the monster make it indirectly made by humans, while that might be interesting to some it takes the mystery away. I would rather have it some the Engineers made it and David made his own version and the Engineers take it and change it so David did the middle-version. Don't let him being the reson why its bio-mechanical because that's lame.
“but the best script will include both the aliens and the AI, maintaining the theme since Alien 1, with mankind suffering in the middle.”
What about the Engineers? They are one of the good things from the prequels. I would like to see more of them and less about David.
Anyone can be an anonymous source, if I said that they will do X in that series does that make me trustworthy? I doubt it. That picture is like a mix of a Xeno and the Newborn, it could be better and it could be worse.
Yeah she kind of has a look similar to Sigourney's Ripley too. I'm not opposed to her taking up the torch... and using it on Xenomorphs!
@jack capellini thats the thing there well Mothra and Rodan didnt attract anybody new it also didnt deter anybody i dont think having 2 brand new monsters would have done anything to attract new people either KOTM just came out at a bad time of the year. blaming its box office results on the monsters is like blaming the dog for its fleas.
Agreed, but I'm surprised and also curious how they'll explain the presence of Xenomorph-like hybridization when the Alien DNA hasn't been discovered yet. Makes me think the series will allude to Weyland-Yutani and Prodigy Corporations having prior knowledge of the Xenomorph beyond what we originally thought after watching the films.
Can you provide the maths that prove it to be possible. Also. Not necessarily would you become patient 0, because there is a way you can prevent yourself from getting it whilst eradicating it. You could wear severe PPE or like a hazmat suit to prevent getting, whilst also preventing patient 0 from getting it. I have a theory though that could go along with what you are trying to say.
In theory if there are different universes, then what would happen is as soon as someone time travels once, they will instantly create a new identical replica universe of the one that they time travelled in, however any differences that they make in this new universe will stick and differ, so if they stood on a stick that snapped, it would be snapped in this new alternate universe (this new addition to the multiverse) but not in the one that they left in. So, if they time travel, they will no longer ever be able to go back to that original universe that they came from but if they make no huge changes in this new universe they could theoretically live their life as it was before. However if they for example killed Lincoln, when they travel back to their time that they left from, (creating yet another replica universe of the one they just changed) anything that could possibly even have the tiniest link to the effects that Lincoln had after you killed him, would be different. If there was a way in which you could travel back to the original universe then you could trial and see which way you could change the time line without too much contamination to this universe (by contamination, I mean differences from the original universe to this new one.)
Hmmm something tells me this is probably a failed hybrid
@G. H. (Gman): I agree. While I doubt people were driven away by the inclusion of Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah, their inclusion didn’t really help the film succeed at the box office. For kaiju fans, seeing three of Toho’s most iconic monsters on the big screen was a huge deal since they already see those monsters as actual characters. But when it comes to general audiences, they mostly watch these movies for monster action, and don’t see a deeper meaning in the monsters portrayed on screen. I also doubt they see them as characters, with the exception of Kong, as he is an American icon and more humanoid in appearance.
While I’m not doubting that general audiences may have enjoyed seeing Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah visually portrayed on screen in KOTM, I doubt that they super invested in the ways the monsters were portrayed as characters. They probably went to their local theater, saw the movie, enjoyed the monster action, and then left the theater thinking “Man, this movie was a fun ride, and seeing Godzilla incinerate Ghidorah at the end was incredible…Anyway, avengers assemble!” What I’m trying to say is that they probably saw KOTM as good filler to keep them entertained before they got the chance to see Avengers: Endgame while it was still playing in theaters.
This goes to show that the Kaiju Genre is not as popular among mainstream audiences as fans seem to think it is.
Also, how about Godzilla Vs. Shin Godzilla?

My favorite JP movie: Tie between Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom.
My favorite dinosaur: Dryptosaurus.
Something about me: Asides from dinosaurs and the Jurassic Park films, I also like the MonsterVerse films (Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Kong, etc.), Van Helsing 2004, the Underworld films, What We Do in the Shadows (both the film and the show), vampire and werewolf folklore, folklore in general, the supernatural and paranormal, and Dracula. I also like Monty Python.
That’s about it. :)
It's ok, Godzilla did deserve his star.

How did you like the poem, comment down below!(please)
Godzilla is a film icon, and the greatest movie monster of all time(no offense kong fans) he definitely deserves a star.

2. DougheGoji (2019-2021)
3. ShodaiGoji (1954)
4. ToraGoji (1998)
