PS4: Godzilla is the best game, I love how it is so accurate and realistic.
Nice to see you active again.
Oh OK, so...let me guess, Ridley Scott is the director of Alien.
"Rexy should have died" To be honest, Rexy is almost immortal and fully blessed by luck. I was shocked at how he survived every single battle.
Oh ok, wait...Why is the time 8:29 pm? Does the time refer to another country's time?
Don't worry about it, but I am only at Chapter 3 because I need to study for UPSR.
Of course! But I have a question. If you keep returning back to this topic, will it increase the number of views or does it count if 1 account views this?
well the closest thing we have to see a new movie is Trevorrow saying if the movie is successful he'll make another movie. To be honest, Dominion doesn't even feel like a final movie
yeah I'm tired of seeing human villains over shadowing the monster antagonists.
It will? But people say that is the last movie. I always believed it was just a new era but then later I only realize that it was really the last movie. But for now, we'll see if JW can really continue. :/
Except it's poorly handled, HinikunaGoji. Human villains are a tricky concept in the particular context of giant...well...things being the main focus of movies.
Xenotaris, I feel like Godzilla 2014 and Skull Island had better logic and didn't retcon previous scenes unlike KOTM and GVK. Also, style over substance is basically VFX and big set pieces being prioritized over important things like characters and story.
As for your thing about human villains, no franchise does it worse than the five Michael Bay Transformers movies. And what's funny is that in the fourth one the worst written human villain is killed by a character whose characterization got already butchered several times throughout the franchise.
The mans name is Zdzislaw Beksinski , seems the accents in his name don't fare well on North American sites, lol. Really cool game, been waiting forever for it. x
Thats like typical movie stuff though
HinikunaGoji
Human protagonists surviving being inside a volcanic ash cloud, I like Chris Pratt and his character Owen but realistically he should have fried when the ash cloud got him
With Dominion I didn't like the over emphasis on human villians in that movie
I like the suit pairings, its nice and it shows just how the OG gigan design holds up to newer designs
Interesting that they would pair the Showa Gigan with the Final Wars Godzilla. Looks great either way.
Well really it actually feels like it build the mythology of the titans and preserves everything i liked about kotm as a whole.
Honestly out of the bunch Kotm is by far my favorite. I love 14' to death but i think the attempt and potiential of Kotm was awesome. imo the first 3 films are pretty solid.
Gvk just like
If i want to watch the movie ill watch the fights on youtube
Im really confused what that means about FK and D
1. the introduction of new characters can make or break a sequel especially if they are thrown in and were supposed to know who they are
2. Ummm can you elaborate on this one
3. I'm sorry I don't understand what Style over substance really means in this context, so I need more detail I'm kind of a dummy when it come to these things
HinikunaGoji: What are the things you liked about it?
@HinikunaGoji: Thanks man! What are the positives and negatives you had with this story? Also, I apologize for the lack of pictures. I haven’t figured out how to include them yet. Lol.
I like option 2, having Ripley 8 metamorph into becoming more xenomorph-like could invoke some good ol HR Giger vibes
I try to combine scotts and cameron's visions in my fanfictions
Wish they would've used Sakai's 1954 replica. It would've been interesting to see the original design in battle.
HinikunaGoji and Xenotaris, I don't hate the MonsterVerse. I think Godzilla Vs. Kong gave me what I wanted to see. I got to see these oversized animals duke it out three times. The movie was loads of fun. But there are a lot of problems too. And I agree that we're starting to get into modern movie pitfalls, those being:
1. New characters are being shoved in for no rhyme or reason and stifling development of existing characters
2. Constant contradictions and poor logic
3. Style over substance (even though when it comes to GVK that was the better option actually)
Any thoughts?
I understand, I don't think i would want the xenomorphs to loose their Feral/Primal Aspect
so there still using that final wars suit? hm.
"MV does not have superhuman protags? "
Well not in the monsterverse but in I've seen this crop up in Jurassic World's sequel movies, looking at you Fallen Kingdom and Dominion
you know what we could really need? an anguirus short.
maybe then freaking bandai will freaking make a freaking sh monsterarts anguirus!!!
cool,lookin suit do.
MV does not have superhuman protags?
And it could be argued godzilla was a good guy before a neutral force.
I dont think theres some quality being lost in all films now.
I hope its better than the hedorah short. That short was pretty good but the kaiju got obscured all the time. That was my only problem.
Did anyone else use toget very offended when people called gigan a chicken?
Also, kind of crazy that we're getting two official short films with Gigan this year, hopefully this means that we'll get to see him in a future movie.
More love for the Alien Cybernetic Buzzsaw Chicken!
Genetic Memory i think this is the THING to have Concentrated on with the Xenomorph. But from the Perspective of what there is to BENEFIT from this, be that for the Engineers or Mankind. It would seem the Xenomorph can Inherit some ASPECTS of this from the Host but we could take this Further.
But to just look at the Basics of this... then YES we cant Rule-Out that a Xenomorph could Learn to USE say Tools of their Hosts... Their Hands should be as Dexterous as ours if NOT even more so. But i think that going too MUCH into this would TAKE AWAY the more Feral/Primal Aspect of the Xenomorph.
Same with Bio-Ships etc.... it could WORK... Certainly for a Comic and Video Game but i think that it would make them more of a Popcorn Flick and Starship Troopers like Movie.... thats NOT to say it wont Work.... or that it would NOT go and Please some of the Fanbase....
But its about the MONEY and if DISNEY feel such a Route would make MONEY then they could maybe GO that Route.... Especially if they wish to Cater for the Younger Generation of say under 30's. Who are more Drawn to the MARVEL like Current Universe... rather than say the Dark Knight Batman kind of Superhero Flicks.
I like to see the Xenomorph for their Purity in that they are a Parasitic Horror that becomes the FOLLY and Chaos in Hubris for anyone who wishes to Obtain such a Species. The same kind of Hubris you would get say if Science decided to Engineer a Deadly Spider the Size of say a LION.... these things then GET OUT and Multiply then they would a GRAVE THREAT to Humanity apart from our Military Weaponry. And this is HOW i like to view the Xenomorph.
But other People have their own Views and ULTIMATELY its out of our Hands and into whatever it is that DISNEY feel is the way Forwards.
Yeah that kind of PUT OFF our Ridley Scott.... it was Reported that both Scott and Cameron would have Collaborated on a Alien V before 2003.
They both had IDEAS about what to do with a ALIENS Sequel before ALIEN 3 came out, and BOTH of their Ideas were Different. With Cameron wanting to go to a Xenomorph Home-World were we would see them as some Invasive Species and maybe he would have had them more Advanced than we have seen, but the Idea seem to be that the Xenomorphs came from some World and well this would mean the SPACE JOCKEY would have merely Discovered some Eggs and was Attempting to Transport them... but we CANT be sure if Cameron would have touched upon the SPACE JOCKEY. But his Idea seemed to be that the Xenomorphs are NOT a Engineered Weapon.
While Ridley Scott who before ALIENS had wanted to Explore the Xenomorph as a more Sinister and Intelligent Organism.... had after ALIENS wanted to Instead go and Focus on them being a Engineered/Created Bio-Weapon and to Explore the Space Jockey and their AGENDA more.
Yeah i see the Xenomorph as a Species that can Adapt to its Environment and Evolve so we could see some Off-Shoots of the Xenomorph with some Different Traits and Abilities.
I think they give us the Vanilla-Morph which means looking like those from ALIEN and ALIENS as its what we are Familiar to but i think you can CHANGE it a Little. Some Concepts from the ALIEN V: Red Harvest work did this.
But i would also be Interested in some other Aspects of the Black Goo and Horror that can come from this.... but i Suspect that DISNEY are NOT much of a Fan of the Black Goo as we saw it in Prometheus. And i think they would Explore it and Answer it as Purely Obtained from a Xenomorph.
While i wont Discus Blomkamps Ideas at the Moment... his Story did NOT need to have Ripley. If you was ever to Explore Ripley again it has to be Ripley 8
To get around her AGE... you simply have TWO OPTIONS with the AID of CGI.
1) Ripley 8 will begin to Degrade and Age at a Rapid Rate... and maybe some Company/Faction could OFFER to HELP find some Cure to HALT this Process but they Ultimately want to Extract her Xenomorph DNA. You would then ONLY need a Few Scenes to make her look Younger, before then you can go to using Miss Weaver how she looks now. Her Xenomorph DNA removed.... which Halts her Aging but she looses her Powers that she had from the Xeno-DNA.
2) She begins to CHANGE into more of a Hybrid where her Xeno-DNA starts to Overwrite her Human-DNA. Again you have a CGI Overlay to make her look Younger and then CGI/Practical Effects to make her more ALIEN.
But in REALITY.... i think its BEST to leave what Happens to her Next a Mystery.
I just don't care for the super hero human that now inhabit every movie regardless if its a super hero or not. I miss when the human protagonists in the Jurassic Park movies were very vulnerable and helpless in the face of a dinosaur or when Godzilla was neither a good guy nor a bad guy, he was like a storm, an indiscriminating beast of destruction that only saves the world from a greater threat when it invades his territory.
