I recently bought an 42" LG Cinema 3D Fully HD TV(Try saying that fast lol) especially for this movie. I just know it will be amazing!

I believe first human cutting meat with sharp stone on top of a stone slab accidently litted fire on nearby grass. This would be the first fire. Then they tried again and sucessful did. This would be control experiment using fire.

Even if there was oxygen in the SJ ship why would you ever take off your helmet on an alien world, let alone in an alien space craft?

Interesting Gemini Im not sure why that "umbilical cord" cant be a reproductive organ. Why cant squidy be raping Shaw? Its clear Holloway becomes infected with something. Maybe whatever infects him thinks its a good idea to use Shaw as a guinea pig for experiments to develop the xenos. Surely it wouldnt be too hard for him to trick his lover into something gruesome like this. The other scenes in the trailer which depict scenes of Shaw in her underwear (staggering down the hallway and the other clip of her staring in the mirror praying) dont really make me feel she was traumatized by giving birth to an alien. she seems to be moving well and is completely disturbed, My little knowledge of the human body would tell me that theres no way Shaw would even be moving after getting a C section apparently a few minutes ago. If the crew gave her a C section, wouldnt they clean her up afterwards? Why is she stumbling around the hallway bloody in her undies while nobody who wouldve given her the C section wouldnt even be monitoring her health? The staples could be some other result of the experiments. I feel these scenes occur toward the end of the movie and Shaw gets isolated somehow, maybe while the crew is dealing with another alien presence or emergency. Holloway, possessed by the jelly or something else, starts taking on the space jockey objectives of developing the xeno species by running tests on a human subject. just a thought, but i'm thinking that squidy was on his way in, not out, during the trailer scene with the umbilical

So, no "God was a monster" theme in Prometheus?.......cuz that one works for me, better than: "friendly, benign ancients made us along with some other kids, and one of the other kids was vary bad and stole all the other kids' real estate after killing them." One thing I absolutely know from practical experience. There are far worse things than death.

Back to the movie... That is why I think the SJ space ship connects to a larger ship where they exchange found and merged life and continue to orbit around the universe searching and experimenting. The larger ships have huge orbits across the universe as shown in the star map room. Since physics are obyed and faster that light travel is not possible these ships need to have very very long life spans/usefulness. The best way to keep a space ship around for thousands of years without having it fall apart is to make it organic and self repairing....

If this is going to be a rape scene then I am sure there are lot of women who are going to feel uncomfy about this . We will have to wait for the director's cut to release if this is going to be a PG 13 rating. Maybe Shaw is getting impregnated by the squid (an early form of a face hugger) and she's going nuts looking at it. The scene is a bit disturbing so to say.

I don't think the Space Jockeys created us. The Engineers created us. The Engineers also created the Space Jockeys. The Engineers created or helped the other species they invited to this particular planet/star system. The Space Jockeys murdered the engineers and stole their technology. The Space Jockeys also want our technology and our home planet. They may have already murdered other "invited" species that showed up with their invitation. And if you see piles of other alien bodies laying about in the pyramids that show up on the trailer, you can bet your last space dollar that their species have been wiped out on their home planet already. The Space Jockeys do want to kill us, but its not personal. Its only business. They want to find out where we live, go there, and wipe out their competition. Once we are dead, they have a turn-key planet complete with our technology already in place, not to mention prime real estate that they can rent/lease out to other members of their ruthless race. The universe is a large place but there are only so many habitable planets. The Engineers seeded a few of these habitable planets but now the Space Jockeys want to become the new Kings. I reserve the right to amend my theory after June 8.

A movie with the potential this one has, comes along so very rarely........I think it's pretty understandable that a lot of us are off-the-plank, geeked out over it.

I think we'll find habitable worlds a[i] very[/i] long time before we figure out a way to get there[i] practicably[/i]. An unmanned probe is one thing.....human exploration, colonization and resource exploitation is quite another. IMO, that just isn't going to happen, until our understanding of Physics is advanced [i]far[/i] beyond its' current state.

Presumably, they'd have a more interesting purpose than simply eating us, however, they [i]could[/i] have any number of sick and twisted uses for our [i]bodies[/i]. I actually kinda like the idea of them lying in wait tens of thousands of years for some poor naive sods -who's ancestors they messed with so long ago- to finally show up. I dunno....I think an angrily capricious: "all your base are belong to us!" decision to wipe us out for stealing their tech seems rather childishly petulant, vs. We're very patient: "it's all part of a very dark, long term plan to harvest the fruits of our past labors." Anyway, if we assume there's no way around relativity effects of FTL travel, there isn't all that much of a meaningful difference between lying in hypersleep for a several years or lying in stasis for several thousand. Neither would work too well for friends and family left behind.

I know what you meant and I think that having a huge "tug" or "tractor" floating around in space could be the same as having a ship thats light years ahead in tech and could be perfectly safe in "auto mode" as the stupid/low tech TUG. Now remember this is all fantasy not a perfect world. So nothing's moronic or genius.
