Why does that one pic of Theron sitting down tell me that this is going to be at the very end of the film as the only survivor telling the company "No, nothing strange happened during the expedition. When we got back to Earth, I noticed I was the only one in a cryo-tube. I don't know where the others went. They just disappeared."

The human eye is not physically capable of processing the images to your brain the way people think. It actually causes lots of problems. Why do you think there are 3 pages worth of warnings with 3D TVs and game systems etc etc.......... Personally, I feel like throwing up when I watch anything in 3D. 2D I'm fine with, even if it's the exact same thing I was watching in 3D.

there is supposed to be alternative to the Real3D system, don't know the name right now, that has a much better brightness. If I find the name, I'll edit my post Edit: The two systems are RealD and Panavision 3D. The Panavision one is supposed to be much brighter. Problem is, RealD has a head start and a bigger foothold in the market. They are testing both systems on the public with Titanic 3D in Cali. Hopefully, the better tech will win out, but I wouldn't hold my breath

@allinamberclad If you can accept the premise that the Engineers are the creators and that they not only created the Space Jockey race but also the human race and "other" races that were all invited to this one place, then, in my theory everything falls in place. The Engineers share some of their knowledge with the first species to arrive (the Space Jockeys). The Space Jockeys kill their creator and steal what ever other technology that wasn't shared with them. The Space Jockeys know that there may be other species coming to this planet in the future to meet their creator (the Engineers who are already gone). The Space Jockeys need only to wait for the next species to arrive to steal their technology as well, One thing that the Engineers will not share with any of the other invitees is the location of each others home world. Why? Because with that information, the other species home world is vulnerable for their extinction. I believe the star maps displayed so prominently in the trailers are generated only if the species are there in person standing on that platform. The Human Star map was blue and showed Earth's solar system with one of the Prometheus crew standing on the platform. The Space Jockey standing on the platform created a green minature star map. I believe that star map was of the Space Jockeys Solar system. Anyway, I don't think the Space Jockeys knew where the human solar system was until a human stepped on that pilot platform. I believe that platform can create a minature star map that can be plugged into the derelect spaceship navigation system for travel to that homeworld. Of course, this is just a theory. My original theory came after consuming a "bad burrito" and a warm beer.

Not sure if 3-D is gonna be adopted by the masses. There's a large group of people actively staying away from 3-D films. I will see one from time to time, but for the most part stay away from them. I also have several friends that won't see any movie in 3-D. I'm not seeing Prometheus for the first time in 3-D, but may see the second viewing in it if people say its worth it. It seems also if the screen isn't properly adjusted the picture can be quite dark and it's said films that are very dark the 3-D doesn't come across that well.

Well, I am hoping to turn this thread into a good link for those of us who want to purchase "better" 3d glasses than the theater offers. I will do some research and post my findings here. In all hopes, I want to find a pair that "wraps" around your face to give the viewer a better way to see 3d films. Please, by all means help me out! If this item does not exhist, maybe some of your inventors out there should get on this mission! Hint hint! lol

hear me out....at the top of this forum there is a tab called "talk prometheus", in that frame Shaw is in the foreground, the two suited statues are in the background...what if the blue ooze crawls in the suits and becomes the sj's....their coloring is the same pale blue....also, on the imax trailer when shaw is peeling thru a port hole window, a large blue tentacle thingy flops across the glass...maybe originated from the same blue snaily squiddy slime stuff....whatcha think?

What causes all corporations to fail? 1.) If the future is capitalism-which I suspect-it's always competition. New emerging technologies, many times unforeseen, can easily break into a competitors market share. One good example is how downloadable music destroyed CD, DVD, and other music software industries. 2.) Not evolving with the market. Industries and corporations need to evolve. If they don't, competitors eat your market share. Barnes & Nobles and Borders were in the business of selling high volume books. However in the last 10 year Borders didn't adapt to internet book sales. Now Borders is in serious demise because it didn't adapt, and Barnes & Nobles still retains a considerable market share because it did. 3.) Corporations having liquidity problems because they over expand and over invest. Sounds very viable for Weyland Industries considering there in the building worlds business. 4.) Losing government contracts/lobbyist laws that protect certain players in a particular business. In the far future, because of all the new worlds being created one can see how planets are initially started by parent governments, but eventually want independence. Thus for large corporations in such industries, these markets are probably very volatile. For instance sugar industries being largely subsidized by the US government. If US sugar industries ever lose their protectionist laws, they would be subject to harsh competition from foreign competitors. This is what is always seen in economic studies in our global economies.

mw3, I completely agree. The day Prometheus comes out I plan on seeing it in 3d, as well as 2d for sure. For sure. 2d will hopefully give the film that olde school feel. Just keep in mind that it was filmed with 3d tech... so it should be pretty both ways....

3d sucks i;ve watched a few 3d films now and i still feel the same it sucks b*lls....i'll be watching prometheus in good old 2d me thinks......btw i can't wait for the fad of 3d to go the way of the dodo.......
