If it can do this, then Godzilla Ultima is strong AF.

Just Kidding. Seriously though, it looks like one of the strongest Godzilla's yet.

I think it’ll be stronger than MV godzilla at least. I mean it’s building up to something that could potentially end the world, and MV clearly isn’t capable of that.  And every japanese godzilla recently (as of 2016) has been doing that.

I would go option 1. It's titled Godzilla vs Kong for a reason, not just Kong. So a team Godzilla would be (kind of) important to the film.

Something new would be my choice, it's too much about David right now and I'm not interested in that. Keep the engineers and the black goo, they have had Ripley in four movies and various Morphs (Xenomorph, Neomorphs, and so on) so why not the Engineers? If they are smart enough they try to introduce something new to the franchise like they did with the Engineers in Prometheus.

Actually In a line in the movie, it’s stated to be just as smart, if not smarter than humans, and gets more intelligent every evolution. And because we haven’t seen it’s final form, I wouldn’t judge that quite yet, So...

Jordan502Godzilla ForumKing Ghidora vs Shin Gojira (final form)

I'd probably say that Godzilla would come out as the winner. Ghidorah has speed and agility as well as three brains to work with but Shin evolves on the spot almost. Plus Shin and G-Earth have thee most strongest Atomic Breaths, Legendary Godzilla didn't even leave any burn marks with his Atomic Breath against Ghidorah. I'm sure Shin would slice Ghidorah in half with it's atomic breath.

Reply
SasquaDashGodzilla ForumKing Ghidora vs Shin Gojira (final form)

Ghidorah is more intelligent (he has 3 brains), while Shin Godzilla doesn't think that much (he acts more on impulse). Ghidorah is also more agile and can fly, while Shin is slow and lumbering. So I think Ghidorah has more of an advantage.

Heisei Gamera is cool, but Godzilla is cooler.

Plus Heisei Gamera was only 60 meters tall, while the MonsterVerse Godzilla is 120 meters tall and is much stronger, so Godzilla has more of an advantage.

Legendary Ghidorah wins. He can take Legendary Godzilla's atomic breath with no apparent injury and can lift the 100,000-tonne creature easily. Shin Gojira has no apparent combat abilities except for firing beams, which are inferior to Legendary Godzilla's mantle-penetrating beams. Ghidorah will just knock Shin down and lift him up into the air before dropping him to his death.

"where Shaw and David would go next. My problem is that Shaw was dumb and annoying"

She was Annoying because she was so Naive and Stubborn to her Religion, her response to the Evidence by Holloway was "so who Created them" and she also said that "GOD would NOT have tried to Hurt her" and so what we have is a Interesting thing  to PONDER as to IF/WHEN she Discovers her WHOLE Religion and EVERYTHING she Believes in is PROVEN to be FALSE... what does THAT do to her Character and IF she discovers the Engineers are NOT Nice or their Creators or she does-not AGREE with what they do.   Say if the Engineers/Hierarchy are prepared to ALLOW her to STAY but then they are to GO TO EARTH to Destroy the Rest of us..... THEN maybe Dr Shaw would WANT to find a way to DESTROY them.

So her Character could be FIXED... Noomi is a Good Actor....

"Unfortunately they didn't have any text to it so the point gets lost, duh"

Indeed, we have NOT even seen the FULL Scene... the Actor who played the Sacrificial Engineer had a Few Lines that we NEVER saw, there is some dialog on the Blu-ray Extras by the Elder Engineer... no Translation but its shown in the Shot of the Draft...

"Let your body become the dirt. Your blood become the waters, and may your soul become their way back to us."

So there was a GREAT Importance and Ritual to that Scene and RS had likened it to how the AZTECS would Choose a Sacrifice who would be Treated as a Prince for a Year and then SACRIFICED to the Gods for a Better Harvest and so this means that the Engineers is Sacrificed as a Duty for the Greater Cause of the Engineers which appears to be CREATION.

"Unfortunately Scott only seems to be interested in David at least in Covenant which was a disappointment"

I think that YES it has Reduced the Role of the Xenomorph... i think maybe we could Accept this.... our Xenomorph has had its Good Run Out.... the ONLY way Forwards would be that the Engineers discover those Eggs and see the Potential in them and RE-ENGINEER and Mass-Produce them and THEN they attempt to LOAD them up and GO OFF on a Warpath... but we know what HAPPENS NEXT ;)

And so its Time for something NEW or OLD as it were..... we maybe need to FORGET about our Xenomorph, but then THINK about as to WHY was it the Experiments on LV-223 had a Genetic Connection to the Xenomorph, the Hammerpedes, the Trilobite, the Deacon, the Mural, The Fresco.... the Neomorph!

so what is the Connection?

*Is this JUST what the Goo Does?

*Or is this Something that the Creation Goo was used on to make such Horrors, and so WHAT was the Creature they BEGAN those Experiments on?

*Or does the Creation Goo come from some other Creature/Species we have NOT seen yet?

WHEN/HOW and WHERE did the Engineers get the Sacrificial Goo from?

Getting away from LV-223/426 then the Engineers have likely Seeded and Interacted with MANY Worlds, and NOT only in this Galaxy.

*Have (do they) the Engineers had Conflicts with their OWN KIND?

*Do they have Conflicts with other Creations?

*Have they had Conflicts with other Species that THEY had NOT gone and Created?

*WHO are their Creators?

And so YES there is more that can be Discovered.

"like Amish people versus the modern ways of living to compare it"

Exactly i think this is what is going on with the Engineers, they do have Technology but they ONLY use it where its Needed, they have a VERY like Cultural/Ritual way of Living, they have Grown Out of things that our Modern Mankind now takes for Granted, and so its like their Culture has been given to them to Follow more Basic Ways like the Amish.

And i would say YES it is VERY UNLIKELY that Planet 4 is the ONLY kind of World the Engineers are on, they MUST have others, and maybe some of these they LIVE in Harmony with their Creations..   Ridley Scott had said the ENGINEERS are NOT A RACE!   They are a Civilization and so they could be a MIX of Engineer, Human and other Humanoid Genomes in their Worlds/Civilizations.

I think the PROBLEM you have is IF you go to bring the Engineers back then its HOW, you would have to THINK so HOW do you bring them BACK but then NOT have any Human Characters.... but there are WAYS around this ;)

Regarding SURVIVORS.... well it seems the Bombardment had NOT gone and infected the Entire Planet, we know that David had gone to Explore various Native Species of Fauna and Flora, IF we had Dr Shaw Survive for some time then she would NEED say Food/Drink as i cant see her being KEPT in Cryo-Sleep all the way until her Death.  For David to have had Engineers to Dissect and Experiment with which included Infants and Children then SOME must have Survived.

It is LIKELY the Bombardment only HIT a Certain Radius... what is Interesting is the Bombardment had eventually just Calcified the Engineers to like Mummified Stone.  And so maybe those Engineers who RAN into the Cathedral/Dome would NOT have been Effected, or others who were NOT in the Courtyard and were able to Barricade themselves.  If the OUTSIDE of those Buildings was Contaminated and NOT Safe then eventually the Surviving Engineers supply of Food would RUN DRY and eventually them become Emaciated and EASY for David to Pick Off.

The Neomorph Spores seemed to ONLY be at the Entrance to the Hanger where there is FLOWING WATER and down the Stream that runs down the Mountain Range where some Black Goo could have Spilled and RAN down the Stream and Infected MOLD/FUNGI that had grown.  And so the BLACK GOO could either be Primed/Programed to turn those Engineers to STONE or the Engineers had a Device that would Render all Genetic Material within a Radius to become Calcified so the Pathogen would be HALTED.

As far as SHIPS it would seem that with the Crashing of the Scorpion Ship (or maybe something else was Activated) then the SHIPS are Stranded and this is WHY we saw that David was Marooned for 10 Years.

RS said more Engineers will Return as they come and go every Few Hundred Years.

BigDaveAlien: Romulus 2 News[Alien Day 2021] Aliens: Fireteam tease return to Engineer Temples straight out of Prometheus!

I think when it comes down to the Engineers it DEPENDS on what you would Expect.

LV-223 Guys who Speak Little would be kind of like having the Predators from AVP.

The Planet 4 Guys had disappointed some but these PAINTED a Picture about Civilization

The Elders were Interesting but they may have got a Redesign if we EVER got to see them where they would appear more like Planet 4 than LV-223.

The Plot seems to indicate the Engineers invest more time in Creating Civilizations and Teaching Them things and Interacting with Worlds, than SPENDING a lot of Time on Creating Horrors like the Xenomorph/Deacon and then ROCKING UP to worlds to UNLEASH them.

But thats the KIND of Engineers/Plot that most would want to see, i feel the Expansion with the Engineers is JUST beyond what many would be into, were as a AVP is more their kind of Cuppa Tea as far as Xenomorphs and ANOTHER Alien Species.  I guess Fans dont want Thought Provoking, but Bone-Breaking Story/Plot.

I think you Needed a Balance between the two.

BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumHappy 4th anniversary Alien: Covenant!

"Covenant should have expand on that but it didn't for whatever reason."

Sadly this was a Sacrifice as a Consequence of them thinking so HOW do we make a Prequel that will Eventually lead to ALIEN, and HOW do we get more Human Characters as we ONLY have Dr Shaw.

And so you had the Covenant Ship and its Plot,  and sadly to give that enough Screen Time and then have the Engineers get more Screen Time would have meant a Extra 30-40 Min....  i would say that WITHOUT the Engineers then AC had needed a Extra 20-30 Min to Build on Characters... a lot of AC seemed Rushed/Forced.

Every Movie has Lame Characters as LONG as you have 3-4 say who Stand Out and well we have NOT had that since Alien 3.  A Good Plot and Special Effects will always FALL FLAT if the Characters are NOT Good or we cant Connect with.

Reply
BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumHappy 4th anniversary Alien: Covenant!

Certainly it seemed that for RS the BIGGEST thing about the Prequels was about Creation, what makes Creation (does Creation have to be Organic Only) and also to look at the Pit Falls of Creating something Intelligent that becomes Sentient.

For me the Creator of the Xenomorph Plot was not so BAD it makes PERFECT SENSE in Context to the Theme/Arc but i do think it would have FITTED just as much if David had Created something Different more PERFECT than the Xenomorph, lets say the Ultramorph.

The Creation Theme would likely had Continued with a Sequel as RS had said it would NOT be about the Xenomorph, and also it would seem that DAVID would be Playing the MAIN ROLE again, which is something else that has NOT settled well with Fans.

Its a Case that NOW they had gone the Route to getting to LV-426 and Xenomorphs then THESE are what Fans are Expecting and NOT a Series about a Would-be Creator as in David and his Quest to become his own GOD/CREATOR.

In HINDSIGHT they should have made a Prometheus Sequel that goes to LV-223 where we get more of a Action Horror and more Clues Regarding the Connection to LV-426 and maybe even a Xenomorph appearance or VERY SIMILAR so then the DOOR to ALIEN could be Closed.

And the Franchise could begin with a Spin-Off thats NOT connected to LV-426 and Xenomorphs and the START of this Spin-Off begins WHEN we see David and Dr Shaw go to where they are OFF TOO.

So Prometheus would then had been a Bridge between ALIEN and a SPIN-OFF.

“But i do suspect that HAD we got a sequel to Alien Covenant then i think RS would have toyed with similar ideas/concepts that are raised in Raised by Wolves.”

You're probably right, that’s why I'm relieved that we will likely not get a third prequel if that would have been the case. David was interesting in Prometheus but was worse in Covenant, that's why another one with David or androids in big roles is of no interest to me. Scott should stick to the visuals but stay out of the writing. Keep him away from the franchise if he can't stay away from the story.

What if they don't get the Engineers right in the first place? You can't expect people to find things out in a sequel if the first one doesn't work. If you plan a series of movies you got to make it work the first time otherwise you're screwed. I don't say that it's impossible but it's risky but at least the prequels got messed up in their execution even though the ideas are interesting. There are things that I like in the prequels, I don't try to totally bash them and that that they are total crap.

How bout an Engineer spin-off? If Star Wars can have Rogue One then why not Alien? They need good writers and a director that doesn't play god and throws in dumb ideas.

“With a Sequel do they then Explain WHY this Weapons was Created in more Detail? Do they show MORE of this Weapon? Do they Spoon Feed the Space Jockey Story more?”

Those things should be hinted at and not overtly explained but they can't be too ambiguous either otherwise we will get a Prometheus. I don't totally blame Lindelof but he caused some trouble. Prometheus should have had more of Spaights and less ambiguity/Lindelof-isms.

I don't mind that they focused more on the Engineers and less on the Xenos. We already had six Xeno-movies before. The explanation should have been better in Prometheus, more A to D and less ambiguity which doesn't mean to throw out all the mystery. Alien is boring if everything is explained.

I hope that they keep the Engineers, even the guys at the Xenomorphing podcast said in their Prometheus episode that they would like to see more of them. More Engineers please, less David and even less of the monsters if they get the Engineers right.

Prometheus creates discussions, which is fine but unfortunately there is a lot of crap in it also. Sometimes we get discussions that are “well, that sucked and why did they do that?” not “Oh this is interesting. Why did they do that?” It depends on what kind of discussions there are and why. Unfortunately the why tends to be that a lot of it wasn't done well.

“But this kind of Edit would have made the Movie 35-40 Min Longer…”
So? I would rather have a good movie that is a bit longer rather than something that is cut for run-time and where things don't make sense/look dumb.
You mention where Shaw and David would go next. My problem is that Shaw was dumb and annoying, maybe she would have been more like in The Crossing which would have been fine but they needed to get her right in the introduction/early in the movie otherwise we get what we got.

“In the Meantime they began to Seed/Evolve Life on other Worlds, even Creating Races that are similar to themselves as they were maybe Millions of Years ago... MANKIND being one such Creation.”

This is something that I would have liked to see more of. We got a hint of it in the beginning of Prometheus with the guy with the cake. Unfortunately they didn't have any text to it so the point gets lost, duh.

“They maybe saw that some of the Civilizations they Created and Nurtured had shown Signs of Evolving”

Which is like David and Weyland but the Engineer part is more interesting. Never had any interesting the Weyland character but if they would have had that TED-talk in there he would have been better.

“This would be a Concern... and the Engineers likely would VISIT these Worlds from Time to Time, and in the Case of Earth then things could have GROWN really out of Control.”

I would have liked to see that, engineers that go to war against their creations. We don't need a full battle-movie but parts of it.

“And so in Context to the Engineers the Xenomorph was again MERELY a Engineered/Evolved Weapon…”
Yeah, but I would rather have them being responsible for it rather than David. Unfortunately Scott only seems to be interested in David at least in Covenant which was a disappointment.

“In Hindsight the MOST POWERFUL and Enigmatic Scene in the Franchise (Derelict/Pilot Chamber and Egg Chamber) should have REMAINED a Mystery.”

I agree

Anyone else that wants to add something?

Thoughts_DreamsAlien ForumSo I am ranking all the Alien movies

We’ve done this thing before but things can change so why not? Here is my list:

1. Alien 3 (both versions): I like how this ended the story of Ripley and it was also nice that it wasn't another marines versus aliens. Newt and Hicks died but this franchise has never been about family and happiness anyways so that was alright. There were enough well-done characters for it to work like Clemens (the doctor), Dillon (the religious leader), and so on. First they distrust Ripley but after a while she becomes the leader kind of. Alien 3 has a good soundtrack. I can understand why some people might dislike it but it's my favorite.

2. Alien: They movie that started it all. I like how they are trapped on a space ship that is small enough and that there is nowhere to escape, I also like that they don't manage to kill the Xeno first, it takes a while. A lot of it is in darkness but there is also some well-lit scenes also mainly in the control room? Parker and Brett are interesting that they are so different and still they work together. Ripley as the final character does a good job and also Cartwright as Lambert in that she is the face of panic and who wouldn't be scared in a situation like that? The scene with the derelict and the SJ is really good and the fairly silent atmosphere adds to that. Even though many has seen the Kane scene I can imagine someone watching it for the first time.

3. Aliens: Maybe it's fair to call this the action movie? I like how it is a different genre compared to Alien. The marines seem kind of confident in the beginning but it goes to crap later. Vasques is my favorite character in this movie still I like her don't take any shit attitude. Hicks works as the silent leader person. Burke is an asshole and works in the context of the movie. I like how this shows a bit more of the company but maybe it wasn’t that necessary to get more information about it in the longer version? Some mystery is needed in a franchise like this.¨

4. Prometheus and Covenant: Prometheus I like the idea about the Engineers, I also like the visuals. Scott is good with how the movie shall look but his ideas for the story are bad. David, and Janek work as characters but I'm not too impressed with the rest. I have seen extra-material from the movie and too many character-scenes are left out, which is a major let-down and makes some of the characters look dumb or not interesting. The new monsters are interesting, I like that they tried something new with this movie even though it doesn't work in general. 2 out of 5

Covenant I like that the planet looks like it has more life, the one in Prometheus looked kind of dead. I like that we saw a bit about the Engineers even though it was too little and I also like that we saw some of their things.

Unfortunately this has the same problem as Prometheus did, most of the characters are lame, I don't understand most of the personality that the characters have they are just blank faces which means that I don't care when they die. At least the characters were not as annoying here as they were in Prometheus. David and Walter are interesting compared to each-other, Oram is interesting as a religious scientist too bad that his death-scene was lame. When Oram died is when I lost interest in the movie. Faris had a fairly small part but I sort of liked her character even though it could have been so much better written and bigger. Seeing Walter and David and how different they were as characters was interesting but the flute-scene where they talk about creation and what ever was too long and too slow, I almost fell asleep at the end of that scene. David as the hinted creator of the Xeno sucks balls.

5. AVP1: I like how it was set somewhere far away on earth, not sure if they would have managed to have it elsewhere on this planet. The isolation works in favor of this movie. Having the predators and Xenos fighting against each-other was an interesting thing. Unfortunately most of the characters except for Lex and Weyland were lame, same as with the prequels. This movie isn't extremely good but it's not a disaster either, I can watch it without feeling embarrassed for the franchise. One thing that I like was the pyramid, that was an interesting setting where you could feel the claustrophobia, a bit of the same feeling as in Alien. A scene that first had a person scared and then we see a penguin was hilarious.

6. AR: Comedy, lame characters not even Ripley was good even though it was kind of interesting with the hybrid Xeno-DNA. The cloning-thing could work in the alien-universe but it didn't here. Unfortunately this is where the franchise started to go downhill. One thing that they got right was the visuals, it looks good but the story and the characters were not. AR got the Xenos wrong, they look like they have dark plastic bags as skin and the newborn looks like crap. A scene a bit into the movie is the underwater-scene, it was good and scary imagine yourself being in that situation. Bad writing got this movie down and it seems from podcasts that I have listened to that Fox messed up on this one.

7. AVPR: Last on the list because it sucks, it is a redundant movie. Random scenes put together without any narrative sense, characters without personality, characters that are just there for one scene and then they are dead. A bad Scream rip-off. The movie is so dark so a lot of the times you don't see a thing. Isn't a point of a movie that we shall be able to watch it? Sorry for being blunt but F this one, it gets 0/10.

Thoughts_DreamsAlien: Covenant ForumPARADISE LOST

There is so much potential with the Engineers so to reduce their world to just one stone-planet would be very boring. To me it seems more interesting if Planet 4 was just one of the places where the Engineers or a sub-group of them if you will (like Amish people versus the modern ways of living to compare it) had decided to live.

I'm not very interested in what happened between Shaw and David, Shaw is what she is and I don't want a movie about a robot. They could write a book about it for those that are interested.

David got his head ripped off in Prometheus so I doubt that he would like to take any risks. Weren't there different drafts where they wrote a bit about what Shaw and David did between Prometheus and Covenant?

“What of the Engineers..... it appears some MUST have Survived for a While... Until they became the TEST SUBJECTS of David.”

Here's another idea: What if some of them realized that David was dangerous so they left in some ships that they had hidden somewhere? Maybe some of them survived and what about them? Why did some of the survive for a bit while others died immediately? Was it about how much of the bio-bombs that they got on them (compare it to napalm maybe)?

“Well we have a 2000+ Year Gap as to WHY we are Still here if these ENGINEERS all Hate us and WANT US DEAD... so you could have had a Conflict a Battle in the STARS where the Engineers had a WAR between each other.........…”

I would rather have that compared to Covenant, a civil war of sorts.

“It seemed Written in STONE that regardless of WHERE it was that David went, that Eventually he would RAIN HELL on the World.…”

But that reduces what they could do with another movie, it’s not a smart choice if you ask me.They should have done another movie or have another direction in ideas of where to go after Prometheus.

About few characters, you could concentrate on a few but they should be well written and well executed and should be more in amount compared to Covenant. Conflicting the franchise, you could fix that with some smart writing but they got to be better than the level that we got in Covenant.

It's good that they keep the Engineers in the franchise, it would be too bad if they were never seen again in any way. The prequels added them to the franchise and expanded it, something that I welcome.  There are more to this franchise than Xenos and the old things. Unfortunately AC took a step back on this but I hope that they will be in another alien-movie in the future.

Thoughts_DreamsAlien: Covenant ForumHappy 4th anniversary Alien: Covenant!

Nah, my opinion is kind of the same compared to back then. There are some good parts and then there are things that are just not good. Covenant has mostly lame characters, it is too much about a crazy robot, and he is also given the role of the creator of the Xeno. There is too little about the Engineers which is a shame. Even though Prometheus was so and so at least it introduced the Engineers and therefore expanded the franchise.

The could have left the Xeno alone, cool monsters don't make a movie good. They could have showed the Xeno as a cameo at the end of the third prequel. Having new monsters is something that the prequels did right.

“Do you still hope Ridley Scott gets to conclude his Prometheus prequel series…”

It depends on if he gets better human characters, reduce the David part heavily, make the Xeno something that David didn't create, and have more about the Engineers. Keep Scott far away from the story, he can be involved with the visuals but not more than that. Not interested in a movie about a mad android, forget it.

I haven't watched Covenant in a long time, there are fan-edits that improve it a little but it is still not enough because it isn't a very good movie. When the foundation is lame then it doesn't help to add things.

More Engineers please but if it's supposed to be a trilogy it might be a bit too late to introduce much about them in the last movie. Covenant should have expand on that but it didn't for whatever reason.

The poster with the Engineer sand the monsters was cool but it implied a movie that we never got. It would probably have been better than the actual movie. It implied that the Engineers created something that they shouldn’t have and it became their downfall, it could also imply David releasing the monsters on them which didn’t happen. Having David recreating the monster and releasing it on the Engineers could have been better than to have him responsible for the monster.

A problem with the prequels is that they removed a lot of the mystery and replaced it with things that are not as interesting.

“I would be just fine if only the Engineers had kept researching the Aliens as weapons of war.”

This is something that I totally agree with.

Monsterzero brings up two points that I agree with. The last time that there were enough well-done characters was in Alien 3, the rest have been disappointments mainly for that reason. To me only Faris and Oram had any personality in AC among the humans, Daniels wasn't that good and was too much like a rip-off of Ripley but she didn’t have that much of a personality either.
