Not long ago, news surfaced that the unofficially-titled Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is looking to bring a young Lando Calrissian into its fold. And, now, sources are saying Donald Glover is reportedly a frontrunner for the much-coveted role.
Birth. Moves. Death. is reporting the talented actor is being eyed for Lando’s iconic role. And, really, that's not too shocking to hear. After all, Glover has proved his skills time and again in projects ranging from Community to The Martian, and his work on Spider-Man: Homecoming is shortly on the horizon. The rising actor seems like he would mesh perfectly with Lando’s witty yet smooth style, and many fans are already saying they can easily imagine Glover doing Billy Dee Williams’ role justice.Of course, an official casting offer has yet to be confirmed and likely won’t be until Lucasfilm simply announces their casting decision. However, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller did recall how Alden Ehrenreich - who’ll be playing the young Han Solo - was the first actor they saw and also their first choice. So, if Glover is in fact singled out as the first choice to play Lando, he very well might get the part.
